“I think I deserve the title fight,” Jiri Prochazka wants to face the winner of Jan Blachowicz vs Glover Teixeira

UFC Vegas 25 headlined the main event between Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka. Although, this was Prochazka’s only second fight in UFC but he made an impact in the Light Heavyweight division that can’t be neglected anymore.
Jiri Prochazka entered the fight with a warrior spirit and left the Octagon with a TKO win against the former title challenger Reyes. He got caught many times by heavy bombs from Dominick Reyes but he didn’t even flinch.
He was dominating the fight all through and when Reyes was really hurt in the second round of the fight he finished it with a spinning elbow. After the fight in the post-fight press conference, Prochazka revealed he had no intention to throw that combo.
Jiri Prochazka says, “That was just the flow, that was just the flow and it just comes. That’s why I have this antenna to catch the ideas.” He directed towards his next hairstyle with which he entered the fight.
Even after producing a knockout for the ages and one of the best knockouts of 2021 until now, Prochazka believes this wasn’t his best knockout. He added, “No, it was not my best finish,”
“There was a much better ending in my career in the fights because I didn’t have this fight under control all the time. Because Dominick surprised me many times. That’s for a man like me, that’s not good. I like to be the best in these things. To be the best and when you mean something or somebody is the best, that was not the best really.” {H/T MMA Fighting}
Jiri Prochazka believes he has done enough to be the number one contender
Before this fight, the UFC president Dana White hinted that the winner of this fight can face the winner of Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. Now Prochazka has picked up his second consecutive win against another title contender and he believes that should be enough to be the number 1 contender.
Jiri Prochazka added, “Yes, I think I deserve that fight, But because my journey in the UFC is so quick and I’m not enjoying that so much like I want. I think yeah, I deserve that title fight.”
Now Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz are booked to face each other in September and Jiri Prochazka will utilize this time to fix the mistakes he made against Dominick Reyes.
He concluded, “Yes, I need time now a little bit to rest and enjoy to be the UFC fighter, to be in this highest league and to use this skill from this fight with Dominick to my training, To upgrade these mistakes and that takes time. That will take time.” {H/T MMA Fighting}
