Joe Burrow has to quickly put the opening-day defeat to the New England Patriots behind him because he will be facing Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in week 2. It promises to be a dress rehearsal for a potential AFC Championship clash later in the season.
On Wednesday, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback spoke during his routine presser and claimed Patrick Mahomes is in a league of his own. The passes he pulls off during live games days are truly exceptional. He was also asked if he would be changing his approach when facing Mahomes this week.
Pat [Patrick Mahomes] is one of one. He's really, really exceptional extending the play, throwing on the move, trying to buy that extra tick for his guys to get open, and really understands the game, so it's always a big challenge going up against him.Joe Burrow said as per Olivia Ray of WLWT5.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback may be a 3x time Super Bowl winner with multiple MVP honors but has struggled against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Mahomes is 1-3 against his AFC counterpart. His lone win came during the 2022 AFC title game en route to his second ring.
“Pat (Mahomes) is one of one.”

In an interview with Kay Adams for FanDuel in August, Burrow said Mahomes brings the best out of himself when they face each other in the gridiron.
You got to go out and make plays because you know he's going to go out and make plays, and that brings out the best in me. It's always an exciting challenge when we go against each other.Joe Burrow said back then.

Bengals legend backs Joe Burrow to beat the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes
Chad Johnson, aka Ochocinco or Ocho, played 10 seasons with the Bengals in the first phase of his career. He knows better than anyone the feeling of facing the Chiefs at Arrowhead—a very intimidating prospect.
However, Ocho has faith in Burrow to go and outplay Mahomes in their own backyard.
We play the Chiefs next week, right? I am telling you right now if you’re a betting man or gambler. Money line. [The] Bengals beat the Chiefs next week. In Arrowhead.Chad Johnson said during one of the segments of the NightCap podcast earlier this week.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will go into the game as the favorites after snatching a victory on opening day against AFC rivals the Baltimore Ravens. According to USA Today Sports, the reigning Super Bowl champions are -6 point favorites against the Bengals.
