Joe Rogan believes that Kamaru Usman deserves another shot at the welterweight title. The UFC commentator said this despite the former champion’s recent back-to-back setbacks. With Belal Muhammad as the newly crowned, Rogan made the case for a showdown with the Nigerian Nightmare’. Here is what happened:
Joe Rogan recently sat down for a conversation with John Rallo, Matt Serra, and Din Thomas. During their discussion on Rogan’s podcast, the UFC commentator highlighted Kamaru Usman’s willingness to take on Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 on just 10 days’ notice. He believes this was a key reason why the UFC “owes” him this chance. According to Rogan, Usman fought valiantly against one of the most dangerous fighters in the sport with almost no preparation time. That deserves recognition.

Rogan pointed out that the fight between Usman and Chimaev was a three-round bout. In his view, Usman was gaining momentum by the third round. He speculated that in a five-round fight, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ might have been able to turn the tide in his favor. Although Usman lost the fight by decision, Rogan believes that the circumstances under which Usman fought were extraordinary and proved his high-level abilities, even at age 37.
Furthermore, the UFC commentator acknowledged that time is running out for Usman, given his age and the physical toll of competing in the UFC. While top contenders like Shavkat Rakhmonov are in the mix for a title shot, Rogan feels that Usman’s body of work, his legacy in the division, and the fact that he stepped up when the UFC needed him should grant him another shot at the welterweight title.
Belal Muhammad picks the winner between Sean Brady vs. Kamaru Usman
Belal Muhammad recently shared his thoughts on the potential matchup between Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady. Muhammad, who previously defeated Brady via TKO, believes that Brady could pose a serious challenge to Usman.
After Brady’s recent win over Gilbert Burns, Muhammad suggested on social media and showed his confidence in Brady’s abilities. The welterweight champion tweeted out that Brady would finish Usman. Brady recently climbed up the charts and now ranks #6 on the division’s rankings.
As for Usman, he stands at #2, making it a possible matchup in the near future.
