“Don’t Sell Your Tickets” – Joel Embiid Has a Clear Message For Philly Fans Ahead of Conference Semi Finals
Joel Embiid had a simple plea for Philadelphia 76ers fan base ahead of the team’s upcoming Eastern Conference semifinal matchup.
Joel Embiid could have played his last game this season
- Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 109-100 victory over the Boston Celtics, completing a comeback from a 3-1 series deficit.
- Embiid urged Philadelphia fans not to sell their tickets for the upcoming series against the New York Knicks, emphasizing the need for strong home support.
- This marks the 76ers' first playoff series win over the Celtics since 1982, and they aim to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years.
Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers have completed the comeback against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. After having their backs against the wall when they were down 3-1, the 76ers became unstoppable with their ‘Big 3’ fit and healthy.
The 76ers were dominant from start to finish and took a 13-point lead after the first quarter. While the Celtics did threaten to come back after a few runs, Embiid and team stood firm and never lost control of the game. In the end, the 76ers registered a 109-100 victory at the TD Garden. Their 4-3 series win over the Celtics booked a second round clash against the New York Knicks.
Two years ago, the two sides clashed in the first round of the playoffs. The biggest headline was seeing Knicks fans famously taking over the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Hence, Embiid urged Philly fans to not sell their tickets.
I just have a message for our fans. Last time we played the Knicks, it felt like [Xfinity Mobile Arena] was Madison Square Garden East. So, we’re going to need the support. Don’t sell your tickets. This is bigger than you. We need you guys. The atmosphere that we’ve had the last couple games in Philly, especially the last one, pushing it to Game 7. We need all of it. If you need money, I got you.

It has been 25 years since the 76ers last made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. This may be their best chance to make a deep playoff run with Joel Embiid looking healthier than ever in the post-season.
The 76ers center missed the Play-In Tournament and the first three games against the Celtics as he had undergone an appendicitis surgery at the end of the regular season. He made his much awaited return in Game 4 and turned the tide of the series with some dominant performances, especially in Games 5 and 7.
The Knicks will have a few extra days of rest after taking out the Atlanta Hawks in six games. However, the 76ers will be high on confidence after playing some beautiful, winning basketball against the 2023 NBA champions.
Joel Embiid was unstoppable in Game 7
When fit and healthy, there are very few players like Joel Embiid. He is an unstoppable force on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Unfortunately, his body has not been kind to him and the 2025-26 campaign remained no different. Injuries have significantly derailed his career and he has been limited to just 38 appearances this season.

Embiid led the scorers on Saturday night with 34 points to go along with 12 rebounds and six assists in 39 minutes of playing time. In the four games he has played in this series, he averaged 28 points, 9 rebounds with 7 assists, and was undoubtedly the best player on the court.
Embiid is the only player in NBA history to have won an MVP award but has never made it to a Conference Final in his career. With a strong supporting cast this year, he may not have a better chance than this year to go all the way.
Joel Embiid and the 76ers finally beat the Boston Celtics in a playoff series
The 76ers were given a huge boost prior to Game 7 when Jayson Tatum was ruled out. While it shouldn’t take anything away from the 76ers, it did leave the Celtics short of offensive power when they needed it most in a high-octane match.
This is Joel Embiid’s fourth clash against the Celtics in the playoffs. He has been on the losing side in all their previous clashes in 2018, 2020 and 2023. It was also the 76ers first series win over the Celtics since 1982.
They finally put an end to the curse on Saturday. After the game, Embiid admitted that it felt good to finally beat the Celtics in the playoffs.
It feels good to win. Obviously we got a bigger goal in mind. But finally beating these guys feels pretty good.
Joel Embiid on finally beating the Boston Celtics
The last time the 76ers made it to the Conference Final in 2001, they advanced to the NBA Finals. Embiid and team will be looking to do the same this year. An enthralling series against the Knicks awaits them in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
