One of the biggest topics of discussion in the NASCAR community at the moment is the playoff format. A majority of the community wants to return to the original full-season points forma, while some significant players though minority wants to playoffs. Reigning champion Joey Logano has found himself in the middle of the controversy.
Joey Logano won three championships in the new era, taking full advantage of the format and it made him the biggest target of the critics. He has spoken out in favor of the format multiple times. But in his recent appearance on the Rubbin is Racing podcast, he asserted that he doesn’t care if the format is changed, considering the champion will remain the champion regardless.
You want me to be honest with you? Yeah. I don’t care. Doesn’t matter. I don’t care. Because you know why? Their trophy’s the same size, the check’s the same size, and the stat still says champion.
Joey Logano said via Rubbin is Racing.
Joey Logano doesn’t care about what format they use, he just wants to win.

He won the championship fighting under the same rules as the rest of the grid and him being the best at grinding his way into the finale just makes him a better competitor. So, for him his titles have the same credibility as the ones won by the legends of the sport as he won following the format and rules he was given.
The rules are the rules, right? Like, they were given to everybody. We all started at zero in Daytona, and everybody’s found their way to get this far. The rules are the rules, and we just got to play them from there. So, to me, a champion’s not any different, depending on the format, to me.
Joey Logano added.
Further talking about the point, the Team Penske Racing driver addressed the claims that he is biased, due to his success which he understands and agrees with. But he asserted that he is okay with having any new formats as regardless of the system, the Bill France Cup winner will get the same respect as the former winners.
I know. I know. Everybody’s going to say, well, that’s because you won them all this way. I know. I know. I hear it all the time. I just, I don’t look at it that way. No, I agree. I agree with you. I mean, if they change the format next year, would it be great to win it? Absolutely. It wouldn’t be any less great than winning it this year, though, or more great.
Joey Logano asserted.
Joey Logano explained significance of winning the championship
In the same conversation Joey Loagno explained the significance of winning the championship in any sports. He pointed out that greatness is always measured by the success of an athlete and with the three championships to his name, he already has legacy only a few could match.

You know, it’s still the same. It’s still a championship, and I measure athletes off of that. I just do. Teams and greatness are off of rings. How many rings do you have? How many, like, you guys watch a lot of other sports, obviously. Yeah. What’s the question people always bring up? How many rings you got?
Joey Logano said.
The comments from the Ford driver seems rational, as at the end of the day the as in a couple of decades, many of the current drivers would be forgotten, but he will be remembered for being the champion. No one going to try to discredit Joey Logano triumph with the playoff’s argument.
