The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano is one of three drivers in the current garage that gets booed the most, alongside Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin and 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace. He was heavily booed by the fans ahead of the Pocono Raceway event and the veteran addressed the situation.
Amazon Prime presenter and ex-racer Carl Edwards, who witnessed the fans booing the Team Penske Racing veteran, asked the how feels about the whole situation. The ex-JGR driver brought up the fact that many believes Joey Logano, the three times Cup series champion, is someone that often misunderstood by the fanbase.
So that’s what shocked me. You know, I’ve always known you as a competitor and I always had a ton of respect for you on the track. One of the themes that was brought up was that Joey Logano is misunderstood. You know, I heard people boo when you walked up here. There it is, right there.
Carl Edwards asked as fans starts to boo Joey Logano.
Just as Edwards was asking this question, the fans started booing Carl Edwards. The veteran took the opportunity take a hilarious jibe at the fans. He reminded them how none of them booed him when he was signing autographs for them and interacting with them. He doesn’t understand this change it behaviours from the supporters.
Well, hey, they weren’t booing when I was signing their autographs a minute ago. And now they’re booing. I don’t get it.
Joey Logano responded.
"They weren't booing when I was signing their autographs before." 😂@joeylogano has some fun with the fans on @PrimeVideo. #NASCARonPrime pic.twitter.com/lymDGa12JE

The proper interaction with the fans is something that Joey Logano is among the best at compared to other drivers. He always has the time to spend with the passionate supporters, especially the young fans. The major reason behind this attitude of Logano is the fact that it hurt him a lot when he was ignored by his favorite driver while asking for an autograph in his childhood.
Will Joey Logano become a crew chief like Dale Earnhardt Jr.?
In a separate conversation, Logano was asked about one of the biggest topics of discussion this week, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s debut as crew chief in the Xfinity Series. He replaced the suspend team leader of Conor Zilisch in the No:88 chevy team of JRM and went onto win the event. Logano is open to doing the same if he gets the opportunity.

Never thought of it. I think the opportunity was perfect for him to jump in there and do it right. He owns a team… I’m sure almost everybody thinks that it’s really neat for him to do that. I don’t know if I’ll ever have the same exact opportunity as that.
Joey Logano said.
But he has some condition for being a crew chief with the first one being he doesn’t want to be the team leader for the whole race week, and only want to be one just for the race day like Dale Earnhardt Jr. He believes as pe his capabilities, its good for him to stuck to driving as the other role is very demanding.
That role is much deeper on a day-to-day basis. If you’re asking me if I want to crew chief a race, sure. If you’re asking if I want to crew chief a car all year long, I’d rather drive.
Joey Logano added.
The opportunity to be a crew chief won’t come easily, as it is spot that is of much significance for the team. So, Joey Logano might have to become a team owner like Junior to secure the chance. It would be interesting to see the Penske veteran as a team like his ex-teammate Brad Keselowski.
