After capping off a successful weekend with WWE in Perth, John Cena met a curveball while apparently at an airport alongside his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh. As the 17-time world champion stopped to give an autograph, a passerby barged in and abruptly asked Cena if he thought that Donald Trump should’ve been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this year.

“No thanks. No thanks,” replied Cena in a nonchalant cadence before exiting. ‘The Cenation Leader’ preferred to dodge the bullet, and the netizens couldn’t be more appreciative of the 48-year-old’s laid-back body language. The Nobel Prize snub of POTUS Donald Trump is the talk of town in geopolitical circles at the moment.

The Republican leader’s open pursuit of the prestigious accolade ended when the Nobel committee decided to bestow the honor on Venezuelan activist Maria Corina Machado. The way Cena gave a cold response to his inquiry of Trump’s Nobel fiasco could mean a whole lot of things. The wrestler-turned-actor didn’t publicly announce his preference for either of the two candidates in the 2024 US presidential elections.

But Cena’s refusal to elaborate on what was asked of him in regard to Trump missing out on the ambitious Nobel Prize doesn’t necessarily determine his choice of vote. ‘The Cenation Leader’ is less than two months away from wrestling his last-ever WWE match in December.

And based on a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the US president could be in attendance that night. He has yet to confirm his presence. However, a number of key White House officials are definitely expected to pay a visit to Cena’s wrestling swansong.

John Cena turned the clock back in epic AJ Styles match at Crown Jewel

This past Saturday at Crown Jewel, John Cena closed the book on a nine-year-long rivalry with AJ Styles. These veterans had met thrice in one-on-one matches on PLEs before this, with Styles winning two of them. The onus was on Cena to draw things level by ousting ‘Mr. TNA’ this time around.

These men went on to deliver arguably their most entertaining match together, with them borrowing moves from their respective career’s best rivals. The ending sequence saw the ‘Franchise Player’ planting Styles with The Undertaker‘s Tombstone Piledriver into an Attitude Adjustment.

It helped Cena record his 100th win at a WWE PLE. One would imagine that ‘The Prototype’ really needed that kind of a performance after being destroyed by Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza.

While Cena didn’t once interact with Styles in the lead-up to their Crown Jewel clash, the story wrote itself. Veteran commentator Michael Cole kept regurgitating that Cena vs. Styles wasn’t scheduled to happen, but it did just because the WWE Universe made their voices be heard. However, reports claim that the match was always in the works despite WWE stating otherwise.

How much influence does The Rock have in deciding John Cena’s last WWE match opponent?

John Cena will bid adieu to the squared circle at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. His opponent that evening is expected to be Gunther, who hasn’t been around since losing his world heavyweight title at SummerSlam. WWE is expected to hold a tournament to determine who would stand across from Cena in his last match.

In an interesting revelation, the man who orchestrated the Last Real Champion’s heavily criticized heel turn, The Rock, recently claimed that he does have a tiny influence in the booking of Cena’s last opponent. ‘The Final Boss’ made the admission on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce and affirmed that whoever is slated to face Cena in his swansong is someone whom he wants.

The wrestling fans in general are still at loggerheads with ‘The Great One’ for having sabotaged Cena’s villainous arc by opting out of the storyline. Rock hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since Elimination Chamber, but it’s highly probable that he would be there in person at the Capital One Arena to see his great rival wrestle for one last time.
