When John Cena snapped last month at the Elimination Chamber, it became the talk of the town. And why not? It’s something he hadn’t done since 2003. While he’s yet to address his on-screen relationship with The Rock that provided an impetus to the shocking angle, Cena has one thing, in particular, to say to the audience.

In probably his first public interview discussing his heel turn, the Matchbox actor told PEOPLE that the fans can certainly expect more unpredictability on the way. When asked to dive into the specifics, the 16-time World Champion firmly denied it. Telling the outlet that since WWE is amidst its most riveting phase of programming, he just can’t spoil anything.

Despite the sardonic response, The Franchise Player did appreciate the question, as it evinced the unpredictable state of WWE. The company’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, recently told Daily Mail that Cena loved the idea of being a heel in his farewell tour when it was broached to him.

The Game let out a sigh of relief while addressing the media post-Elimination Chamber over WWE keeping the Cena plot twist extremely close to their vest. Outside of The Rock, whom John sold out to, rapper Travis Scott also accompanied the Hollywood moguls to the ring.

However, coming out of the PLE, the Houston-born artist was subject to extreme criticism for inadvertently injuring Cody Rhodes. During the beatdown of the Undisputed WWE Champion, Scott took an unrestrained swing at Rhodes, resulting in a ruptured eardrum.

How did the John Cena WWE European tour go?

WWE was in Europe for the past three weeks. In an unprecedented international tour, the company held back-to-back TV tapings, viz., Raw and SmackDown. John Cena didn’t miss a single episode of the red brand for which he’d been advertised in advance.

Starting in Brussels, The Cenation Leader broke up with the WWE Universe after citing that they’ve treated him as their puppet. He didn’t want a toxic, dysfunctional relationship to bother him anymore. The following Monday in Scotland, the 47-year-old vowed to ruin wrestling for everyone.

On top of everything, the wrestler-turned-actor threatened to quit WWE the moment he gets to a record-breaking 17th world title at WrestleMania 41. On both occasions mentioned above, his foe, Rhodes, didn’t quite say much to Cena, except that he’s a “whiny bi**h.”

But this week in London, the two belligerents engaged in a war of words. The Peacemaker star called the former AEW EVP a slimy pickpocket who thought just because he stole the blueprint, he could run the kingdom. In one of the most jarring things he could’ve said in return, Rhodes insinuated that Cena was handpicked by Vince McMahon and not by the fans instead.

Bret Hart reveals his reaction to John Cena’s WWE heel turn

As alluded to in the beginning, John Cena embracing his dark side has elicited a ton of reactions from the fanbase, let alone the industry veterans like Bret Hart. The latter recently joined Ariel Helwani on his show.

Even though The Hitman didn’t watch the segment where The Cenation Leader sold out to The Rock, Hart was definitely surprised to hear about it. The Canadian wrestling great mentioned how John has always been a fan favorite, especially with the no. of wishes he’s bestowed on specially abled children via the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Although it’s hard to fathom for Bret how Cena’s going to fare with a different gimmick altogether, the WWE HOF’er is still backing the Ricky Stanicky actor to pull it off. It’d be interesting to see what’s in the store for the fans who’ve invested their heart and soul into the storyline.
