John Cena turning heel is a moment that fans have been demanding for years. However, they never expected to see it actually happen. WWE took an extremely bold step at Elimination Chamber, as Cena turned heel on Cody Rhodes and joined forces with The Rock.

John Cena walked into the Elimination Chamber post-show press conference room and took his seat. He pulled his microphone out of the stand, dropped it on the table, and walked away without saying a single word or answering any questions.

In the main event of the show, Cena had survived through the Elimination Chamber and successfully punched his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania. While he was celebrating in the ring, the lights went out, and Rhodes made his entrance to the ring. He had a brief interaction with the Cenation leader before The Rock’s entrance theme hit.

The Final Boss came out looking for an answer, and The American Nightmare shut him down rudely. He then made a throat-slitting gesture towards the erstwhile Doctor of Thuganomics, who laid Rhodes out with a low blow.

The 47-year-old continued to hit him with subsequent attacks, even using his own championship belt alongside him. Cena, alongside Travis Scott, held down the WWE Undisputed Champion while The Great One whipped him with a weight belt and left him bloodied in the center of the ring.

John Cena ties record for most number of Elimination Chamber victories

John Cena entered his final Elimination Chamber match in the fifth spot. Everyone but CM Punk was already present in the ring. The dominoes started falling after Drew McIntyre was eliminated with a roll-up by Damian Priest. Fuming, the Scottish wrestler hit a Claymore onto the Archer of Infamy before leaving, and the latter was pinned by Logan Paul.

After Paul was also eliminated by the Best in the World, Cena teamed up with Punk to eliminate Seth Rollins from the match. The remaining two superstars put on a clinic, which sent the fans in Toronto into an uproar of nostalgia. As many would know, these two had one of the best WWE rivalries of all time in the summer of 2011.

However, the Visionary returned to the ring, landed a stomp on CM Punk, and the 16x World Champion capitalized by cinching in the STF. The Second City Saint passed out, and Cena won his fourth Elimination Chamber match, an accolade tied only by Triple H.
