(Video) Concerned John Harbaugh abruptly ends press conference after hearing about brother Jim Harbaugh’s condition in Denver
Shortly after the game between the Chargers and the Broncos kicked off at Mile High, Jim Harbaugh felt sick enough to visit the medical tent and the news reached his brother John Harbaugh in Baltimore.

Jim Harbaugh wasn’t present during the Los Angeles Chargers’ utter dominance of the Broncos in the first half. Cameras caught him leaving the sidelines for the blue tent.
Just after the kickoff at Mile High, the Chargers’ head coach consulted some of his subordinates, and then a couple of them escorted him to the blue tent. The sudden departure confused fans and announcers alike.
While the doctor looked after the 60-year-old, the news reached his brother’s ears in Baltimore. The Ravens’ head coach, John Harbaugh, whose team had just defeated the Commanders 30-23, quickly left the post-match presser to check on him. Second-year wide receiver Zay Flowers replaced him on the podium.

A few moments later, the Chargers’ official X account revealed that Jim Harbaugh was doubtful about returning to the game. Defensive coordinator JC Minter took over the play-calling duties.

The Chargers had their bye week, but instead of letting their foot off the gas pedal, they grinded harder because before facing the Broncos, they lost two straight games against the Steelers and the Chiefs. Harbaugh’s team required a swift return to winning ways.
Despite his absence on the sidelines, the Chargers dominated the Broncos in the first three quarters. Quarterback Justin Herbert completed more than 230 passing yards for one touchdown to Kimani Vidal and set up JK Dobbins for a rushing touchdown who had more than 20 carries.

The afternoon felt sweeter when Harbaugh walked back out on the sidelines at the start of the fourth quarter and resumed his duties as head coach. CBS Sports sideline reporter AJ Ross provided an update on his health.

Ross also asked him about the Chargers’ performance in the game. Harbaugh highlighted that they were running the ball really well but the game still had one more quarter left.

After a turnover on downs, the Broncos mounted a late comeback with rookie quarterback Bo Nix throwing a couple of touchdown passes to Troy Franklin (2 yards) and Courtland Sutton (15 yards) before Wil Lutz scored a 40-yard field goal to reduce the gap to just 7 points with just under a minute left on the clock.
The late Broncos comeback never met fruition as the game ended 23-16. Herbert finished the night with a 99.02 quarterback rating. Nix threw for 216 yards from 19 completions for 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.
