American tennis legend John McEnroe has assessed the levels of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The two tennis heavyweights are playing at the peak of their powers and currently hold all four of the Grand Slam titles.
Recently, they elevated their careers by playing one of the greatest finals in history at the Grand Slams. Alcaraz ultimately prevailed by saving three championship points to win a 5-hour 29-minute encounter. McEnroe said on Corriere:
Look, personality, character on court, that's something that can't be easily built, it's innate. Alcaraz exudes charisma, making his matches electrifying. I have to say that Carlos is the most talented young player I have ever seen; he's simply brilliant. Yet, they both have elements that make them unique. Jannik is more consistent, and what impresses me most about him is the clarity of his shots and the sound it makes when he hits the ball. I had never heard anything like it.
McEnroe also predicted the possibility of the duo of Sinner and Alcaraz potentially catching the Big 3 Grand Slam tallies. Alcaraz is at 5, whereas Sinner is at 3. Hence, there is still a long way to go for them to reach their numbers. He added:
Now, you ask me if I see Alcaraz and Sinner winning 25… I don't know, it sounds insane to me, but never say never. In modern tennis, everything is more athletic and brilliant as time goes on. If anyone can do it, it's these two.
Sinner and Alcaraz will now turn their focus towards the grass court season. The Italian will play in Halle, where he is the defending champion. Meanwhile, Alcaraz will be the top seed at the Queen’s Club, where he has won in 2023 before lifting his first Wimbledon title that year.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Roland Garros party revealed
Spaniard star Carlos Alcaraz’s love for partying sparked debate after the release of his Netflix documentary. The film showed his desire to celebrate with friends, which drew criticism from fans and analysts alike. Despite the backlash, it seems his team has now accepted his plans to celebrate his latest French Open win over Jannik Sinner.

Last year, after he went partying in Ibiza, Alcaraz received strong remarks from his manager, Albert Molina, and coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero. They expressed concern about his focus and questioned whether such behavior aligned with the discipline needed for long-term success.
The criticism surprised many, especially given its candid nature. Some former players even pointed to it as a sign that Alcaraz might lack the dedication required to become one of the sport’s greatest champions. However, Alcaraz returned from his break and successfully defended his Wimbledon title, silencing many doubters.
Now, after his thrilling French Open victory, Ferrero has confirmed that Alcaraz will again celebrate before returning to competition. He is expected to play at the ATP 500 Queen’s Club tournament starting next Monday. Although he won the event in 2023, Alcaraz will be looking to improve on last year’s early exit to Jack Draper.
How Jannik Sinner improved his backhand in 2025?
Jannik Sinner may have fallen short in a thrilling French Open final against Carlos Alcaraz, but he still holds a clear edge over most of his opponents in one crucial area of the game. Despite the loss, his performance confirmed that he remains one of the most complete players on the tour.

Over the past 18 months, Sinner has collected three Grand Slam titles and came within a point of claiming his first Roland Garros crown. His aggressive style and relentless pace have made him a constant threat on all surfaces.
Tennis coach and online analyst Ashley Neaves, known as The Tennis Mentor, recently broke down Sinner’s impressive backhand. He highlighted how the shot adds balance to Sinner’s game and forces opponents to rethink any strategy that targets his backhand side.
Using footage from Sinner’s second-round match against Richard Gasquet at Roland Garros, Neaves revealed what makes the shot so effective. He emphasized the technique and timing that give Sinner’s backhand both consistency and power, proving it’s just as dangerous as his forehand.
