John Stockton SLAMS COVID-19 vaccine citing personal experience with son and chiropractor
The COVID-19 vaccine has always brought about polarizing opinions amid people.
John Stockton
NBA Legend and Hall of Famer, John Stockton was recently highlighted in the news after he submitted a declaration that described his objection against the COVID-19 vaccine. The former Jazz star has been against vaccines, and his distrust comes from his NBA days. Stockton is the all-time assists leader and had a decorated NBA career.
However, the recent reports reveal some of his beliefs that may not be taken positively by the majority of the audience. Stockton once caught the flu and spent a couple of nights in a hospital in Charlotte. Following his discharge from the hospital, his disbelief in vaccines only grew. In the recent filing, Stockton also gave instances where he explained the disadvantages of certain vaccines.
I contracted the flu despite the vaccine. My child was hurt because of the vaccine. Maybe there was some truth in our Chiropractor’s words... To find the truth, I used a mosaic approach seeking data, anecdotal information, personal experience, common-sense and contrary indicators.John Stockton said in his declaration
Not only that but Stockton also recalled the time when his father got sepsis after he took a flu shot. He also stated that this occurred for three consecutive years before going on to mention that his child was hurt due to the vaccine – though he did not describe in what way.
John Stockton was suspended by his alma mater
The 10-time All-Star used to play for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. As a retired athlete and alumni of the institution, John Stockton was a season ticket holder of the Bulldogs. However, when he refused to wear a mask during the pandemic and was suspended as the holder. His disbelief against vaccines comes with the support of his chiropractor, who worked with the Jazz.
Stockton believed in the use of alternate medicine and anecdotes, as he wrote in his declaration. There have been a few players in the league who opposed the vaccine during the pandemic. One of the highlighted stars included Kyrie Irving, who refused to get vaccinated. He reportedly lost over $100 million and only played 27 games that season.
Irving missed the majority of his games due to the restrictions that included being vaccinated. This was a big break from the game for Irving. After his uneven stretch in Brooklyn, he finally found his home in Dallas alongside Luka Doncic, where he’s doing extremely well. Though, unlike Stockton, Irving’s rebellion against the vaccine soon turned to corners.
