Israel Adesanya suffered the first loss in his professional MMA career at the hands of Jan Blachowicz at the recently concluded UFC 259. ‘The Last Stylebender’ was out grappled in the final rounds, primarily due to the size and power of the Super Pole. This was the first time Adesanya has taken on an opponent this heavy. It left the MMA community wondering, how Adesanya would fare if he fought his nemesis Jon Jones (who is currently a heavyweight). Notable people like Daniel Cormier, and in fact Jon himself wrote off the fight saying that the fight was out of the question and that Adesanya would struggle against heavier opponents.

Speaking about this in a recent interview with Submission Radio, Adesanya’s coach Eugene Bareman said, “Jon knows who the biggest star in the sport is at the moment and who can get him paid the most. That is why the fight won’t fizzle out. So, Jon’s gonna, if he hasn’t already, I’m sure he’s probably been on social media and gone through all the antics that he usually does, but at the end of the day, the facts are the facts. The fight doesn’t fizzle out, because they’re the biggest guys in the sport and they bring in the most money, and that’s why the fight still exists.”

‘Now you’re just being a cloud trout’

This did not sit well with Jon Jones. So, he took Twitter to reply, tweeting, “Give it up coach, we’ve all seen your cards, your boy has almost no take down defense or offense off his back. Now you’re just being a cloud trout, if you would honestly send him in there against a 260lb wrestler after that last performance, you don’t care about his well being.”

No sooner did Adesanya lose to Blachowicz than Jon Jones tweeted that he was no more interested in fighting Adesanya and also that he wouldn’t entertain people asking to make the fight happen, and hence Jon has come up with a similar response to Eugene Bareman as well.
