UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones came under heavy fire recently. During a very recent Drug-Free Sports International (DFSI) sample collection at his home, Jones allegedly engaged in threats/assaults. Later, Jones debunked the allegations; now, peer Henry Cejudo thinks he should take action.

Jon Jones sees his fair share of troubles with a fan ending up in crutches due to his slicers. Moreover, pundits dissed Jones for stating that there was nothing monetizable for the UFC 300 feature event. The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) created an incident report and summoned him for the issue. Cejudo has weighed in on the whole storm.

Is Jon Jones innocent? One hundred percent… It’s almost like these people want to somewhat create a story because they want to portray, keep going with the storyline that Jon Jones is ‘the monster.’ ...could get frustrating at times. Trust me by that, I’ve gotten into it with guys from USADA. People who I’ve known for years, people who have tested me for years. If I’m you Jon Jones, ...I would get her for defamation of character, I would get her for being a two-faced c*nt, and trying to come at you for something that you really didn’t do.

The fighter admitted to using slurs but denied allegations of making threats and assaults. Taking to IG, Jones even uploaded security footage showing him cordially fist-bumping the collection agents. Hence, Henry Cejudo believed that ‘Bones’ should sue the DFSI agent, Crystal Martinez, for defamation of character and falsifying the narration.

Jones habitually grapples with the law often. He was once involved in the hit-and-run of one Vanessa Sonnenberg; the pregnant victim suffered some harrowing ordeal. The Albuquerque Police Department placed him at the scene, along with drugs. However, this time, he has a strong case of hearsay with Cejudo coming to his support.

Jon Jones’ arrests, DUIs, and run-ins with the law over the years

UFC heavyweight Jon Jones served many UFC suspensions and doping violations over the years. He had found himself in much trouble refusing particular opponents or demanding pay bumps. Other than that, though, he has faced litigation turmoils outside the promotion as well. Even now, close acquaintance Henry Cejudo has come to his aid for one.

This acquaintance grew out of nowhere when ‘Triple C’ started coaching Jones for his heavyweight scrap against Ciryl Gane. This was after his coach, Mike Winkeljohn, banned him from entering JacksonWink MMA, for domestic violence charges. Despite the damaging reputation, Cejudo and others continue to support the heavyweight champion.

In 2012, he crashed his Bentley and was jailed for DUI. Jones pleaded guilty, with $1000 in fines. In April 2015, he was in a horrific hit-and-run of a pregnant woman and fled the scene, leaving behind traces of drug usage.

Fight fans often gibe at him for it to this day. Similarly, a police dash cam from an SUV in 2022 shows him using racial slurs and headbutting a Metropolitan Police personnel. His fiance, Jessie Moses, had also filed criminal battery/domestic violence charges in 2021. All in all, to sum up, ‘Bones’ isn’t without his fair share of turbulence with the law.
