“No one cares about you anymore” – Golf fans react as Jon Rahm claims himself to be a ‘top-10’ player in the world ahead of 2025 Masters Tournament

Ahead of the 2025 Masters Tournament, Jon Rahm dropped a bold claim. The 2023 Masters champion claimed that he considers himself a ‘top-10’ player in the world despite not being in the top-10 rankings. This comments from him ignited some wild reactions from fans.
Rahm, the Legion XIII captain, was once a top name on the PGA Tour. He first became the World No.1 in June 2020 and then kept on exchanging this place with Dustin Johnson.
Rahm’s victory in the 2023 Masters Tournament saw him reclaim the rank of World No.1 as he topped the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). At the end of that year, he shocked the world by joining LIV Golf and leaving the PGA Tour.
The LIV Golf do not get OWGR points unlike the other professional tours. As a result of this, players from that tour see their rankings take a hit. This year, Rahm fell out of the top-50 for the first time in 8 years.
However, the Spanish golfer is not bothered by that. Speaking at the press conference before the 2025 Masters Tournament, he claimed that he feels like he still “undoubtedly” is one of the top-10 players in the world.
I mean, I’m not going to say exactly a number, but I would still undoubtedly consider myself a top-10 player in the world. But it’s hard to tell nowadays.

At the moment, Rahm only earns rankings points from the four major championships and the DP World Tour events. In 2024, he took a swipe at the OWGR and claimed that it was not a good system and affirmed that as time goes on, he continues to proven right.

At one time, Jon Rahm was one of the most beloved figures on the PGA Tour. However, his move to the LIV Golf has fractured his relationship with the fans, with many slamming him for his choice.

On Tuesday, fans once again took a swipe at him. While there were some who supported his claim and took a jab at the OWGR, many were not interested to what the 2-time major champion had to say. One fan wrote, “Rambo. No one cares about you anymore. Have fun out there.“

Maybe he shouldn't have gone to a tour that doesn't get OWGR points awarded. Wouldn't be hard to tell then

Put some pants on, turn off the music, start on #1, make a cut, play 72 holes, beat everybody. Pretty simple fix.

Maybe if you’re in a real tour.

Speaking of the Masters Tournament, Rahm is one of the 12 LIV Golfers to take part in this event. He has been paired up with former U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark and Tommy Fleetwood for the first two rounds of the event.
LIV Golf member drops name of Jon Rahm while claiming to receive bias treatment from the DP World Tour
Last week, the name of Jon Rahm started trending in the golfing world after his LIV Golf league mate took a swipe at him. The player accused the DP World Tour and dropped the name of Rahm while claiming to receive bias treatment.

In an interview with The i Paper, English golfer Lee Westwood accused the DP World Tour for manipulating the rules in favor of Rahm. The Majesticks GC member stated that he and the others did not receive the same treatment from the European tour like Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton had.
The tour have not treated everyone the same way. They have not treated Rahm and Hatton the same way they treated me, Poults and Stenson and the like. They have manipulated the situation.
Lee Westwood said
This words from Westwood came in the context of penalties towards the LIV Golfers who were once members of the DP World Tour and regarding the Ryder Cup drama.

A golfer needs to play in at least of the DP World Tour to retain their membership. Rahm played in 4 events last year and thus retained his status and is thus eligible to play for Team Europe later this year. Meanwhile, Westwood, Ian Poulter and others resigned from the DP World Tour after sanctions were placed against them.
