Triple H is largely credited with making NXT into the blockbuster TV show that it is today. NXT started as a game show between wrestling rookies. However, The Game pivoted it to NXT Black and Gold. Some fans still regard it as the best wrestling TV program put on by any wrestling company. However, it turns out that not everyone was a fan of the developmental brand, including Vince McMahon.

Speaking on Behind the Turnbuckle, Jonathan Coachman revealed that McMahon hated something which was popular, but did not come out of his mind. Superstars such as Zack Ryder who had gotten over on their own without a push from the company were a great example of this fact. Thus, when The Cerebral Assassin reformed NXT and it got highly over, the former chairman detested it.

Coachman pointed out that this is why NXT-made superstars were rarely pushed after their main roster debuts. This is obviously not the case anymore. A vast majority of the superstars currently on Raw and SmackDown had made their way to the main roster through NXT. All of these wrestlers came out of a product that Hunter created, and it was now being run by his best friend, Shawn Michaels.

And that was one of the weak points of Vince McMahon. As much as he says, Tommy, ‘I did things that were good for business,’ if he came up with the idea should’ve been the complete sentence of that because he didn’t wanna give anybody credit, much less his son-in-law, so people would think potentially Triple H is smarter than him.

Vince McMahon often liked to claim that he always did what was best for the business. Coachman believed that this was only true as long as he came up with the idea himself. He did not want to give anyone credit, even his son-in-law. The 79-year-old was allegedly insecure about people thinking that the King of Kings was smarter than him.

Kevin Nash believes Triple H would have left WWE with Stephanie McMahon if Vince McMahon took back control of creative

Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE in 2022 after the hush money scandal broke out. This was a huge surprise as many thought that he would work in the company until the day he died. Triple H eventually over creative control of the company, and was later promoted to Chief Content Officer (CCO).

However, McMahon started exerting behind-the-scenes influence in 2023 and tried to regain creative control throughout the year. His attempts were eventually shut down, and he was completely kicked out of the company after the Janel Grant lawsuit broke out in the news.

And I think at that point, if it wouldn’t have went the way it did, I think Paul would have walked. Steph already had.

Speaking on Kliq This, Kevin Nash revealed that the landscape of WWE could’ve been vastly different if McMahon’s attempts were successful. The former WWE Champion claimed that he knew the Cerebral Assassin. He would have walked out the door alongside Stephanie McMahon, who had already left the company by this point.
