The New York Knicks have confirmed that they have accepted Donald Trump‘s invitation to the White House after winning the 2026 NBA championship. However, it looks like Josh Hart‘s old tweet resurfaced about Trump.

In 2020, Hart wrote, “YESSIR!!!! GET TRUMP’S DUMBA** OUT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!” on X. Hart tweeted this after Trump lost the 2020 Presidential elections to Joe Biden.

With the old tweet going viral, former NFL star T.J. Houshmandzadeh believes that Hart will not be going to the White House.

Josh Hart ain’t going. He ain’t going. There’s no way you can tweet ‘Get Trump’s dumbass out the White House’ and then back pedal faster than Deion. There’s no way you tweet that and now you gonna go? You have had a change of heart. At some point, you gotta stand on what you stand on.

Donald Trump is a big fan of the New York Knicks. He became the first active President to attend an NBA game. He was present for Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. His presence at Madison Square Garden drew a lot of reactions from the public.

Meanwhile, Josh Hart played an instrumental role in the Knicks’ playoff run this year as they won their first championship in over five decades. At the time of the tweet, Hart was playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The details of when the Knicks will visit the White House are yet to be shared. But it looks like Hart may decide to skip it if he still stands by what he tweeted about the President six years ago.

James Dolan announced that the Knicks had accepted an invitation from the White House

It is no secret that Knicks owner James Dolan is a supporter of the Republican Party. He has shared a close friendship with Donald Trump for over 30 years. He personally invited Trump to attend Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals at the Garden.

Dolan revealed that the club will visit the White House after accepting the invitation.

We just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted. I invited the president to come down for the game. He is a friend. I’ve known him for 30 years. And I’m very proud to bring the team to the White House. First time ever [for a president] for any NBA Finals. And then you guys get to go back and be celebrated for the entire country to see at the White House at some future date.

The Knicks became the first NBA team to visit Trump’s White House. It remains to be seen if Hart and other members of the organization decide to skip the visit to the White House.

Jose Alvarado about possibly visiting the White House

It is a tradition in North America that championship-winning teams visit the White House to celebrate their achievement. NHL’s Florida Panthers and MLS’s Inter Miami CF were the recent clubs to accept the invitation from Donald Trump’s White House.

When asked about the visit, Jose Alvarado did not have a direct answer.

If there’s a chance, I’m going wherever my teammate goes.

It looks like Alvarado will just go with the flow. But all eyes will be on Josh Hart, whether he accepts or declines the invitation.
