The ATP has been criticized for snubbing Jannik Sinner's coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi for the ATP Coach of the Year award.

Jannik Sinner dominated the ATP Tour this season, registering the highest number of wins and titles. For the first time in his career, he became the year-end World No. 1. However, his coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi were left off the list of nominations for the 2024 ATP Coach of the Year award.
Sinner began the year winning the Australian Open and followed it up with a 16-match winning streak. He suffered his first loss at the Indian Wells Masters in March but did well to bounce back and win the Miami Open.
In August, Sinner skipped the Paris Olympics due to tonsillitis and then won the Cincinnati Open and US Open. He didn’t back down despite losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the China Open final.
The 23-year-old clinched his third Masters 1000 title in Shanghai and then cemented his position as year-end World No. 1 before defeating Taylor Fritz in the ATP Finals in Turin. He ended the season with an excellent 73-6 win-loss record.
However, Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill have been surprisingly left out of the nominations for the 2024 ATP Coach of the Year award. The snub has led top journalist Jose Moron to slam the ATP.
En 2023, Djokovic ganó 3 de los 4 Grand Slams y fue N1. El premio a mejor entrenador del año no se lo llevó Ivanisevic, sino los entrenadores de Sinner.

Alexei Popyrin and Taylor Fritz coaches top the 2024 ATP Coach of the Year award nomination
The 2024 ATP Coach of the Year nomination includes Xavier Malisse (Alexei Popyrin), Emmanuel Planque (Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard), Micheal Russell (Taylor Fritz), Brad Stine (Tommy Paul) and James Trotman (Jack Draper). Fritz and Popyrin’s coaches are favorites to win the award.
Popyrin began his 2024 campaign as the World No. 40 and ended the year at No. 24. He claimed his maiden Masters 1000 title at the Canadian Open in August and also earned his career biggest victories by beating Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev.
Fritz claimed two titles this season and reached his maiden Grand Slam final at the US Open. He also reached the ATP Finals a few weeks ago and lost to Jannik Sinner in straight sets. He finished the year at a career-high World No. 4.
Perricard had his breakthrough season this year after climbing from outside the Top 200 in January to No. 31 currently. The French youngster won his maiden ATP title at the Lyon Open in May and sits at a career-high World No. 12 following his two title victories this season. Draper, meanwhile, boasts of the Stuttgart and Vienna Open titles.
