Jrue Holiday agrees with Jason Kidd calling Jaylen Brown the Celtics best player ahead of Game 2 of NBA Finals
Jaylen Brown kept Luka Doncic from turning Game 1 of the NBA Finals around.

Jrue Holiday agrees with Jason Kidd that Jaylen Brown is the best player on the Boston Celtics
So far in the NBA playoffs, Jaylen Brown has remained the best player on the Boston Celtics. He outshined his illustrious teammates and led the team to their 2nd NBA Finals appearance in 3 years. Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd affirmed this notion, and Celtics teammate Jrue Holiday agreed.
The defensive ace was a guest on SiriusXM NBA radio recently. During the interview, he was asked about Kidd’s comment on Brown. The Celtics guard said Kidd’s assessment was on point and highlighted the offensive and defensive output of Brown.
I don't think he's lying. I think JB, he's been aggressive in every single way. He's been getting to the paint, getting to the free-throw line, also making plays for other people. And then, he's guarding Luka, he's guarding their best player... That's hard to do, especially against somebody like Luka.Jrue Holiday on Media day

Jrue Holiday feels it is rare for a superstar to take on such a massive offensive load. At the same time, he remains great defensively. It is usually one or the other in the NBA.
Jaylen Brown has consistently led the Boston Celtics in scoring throughout these playoffs. But along with that, his defense in Game 1 showed that he would do everything needed for them to win. More importantly, as Holiday said, Brown is guarding the opposition’s best player.
It is not an easy task, considering that the assignment alone will drain a lot of energy. At this stage of the season, energy is not a player’s strongest point. Therefore, it goes to reaffirm Jason Kidd and Jrue Holiday’s praise for Brown.
Jason Kidd was all praise for Jaylen Brown
The Dallas Mavericks head coach was asked about Jaylen Brown’s Game 1 performance in yesterday’s press conference. He had a glowing review of the Boston Celtics superstar.
Well, Jaylen's their best player. So, just looking at what he does defensively, he picked up Luka full court. He got to the free-throw line. He did everything, and that's what you know your best player does... And he's been doing that the whole playoffs.Jason Kidd via Media Interview NBA Finals 2024
Jason Kidd alluded that his players must do a better job in containing Brown. Allowing him to dominate the floor has resulted in a bad loss for them in Game 1. Kidd claimed that Brown’s offense, as well as his defense, was the reason he won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy.
Brown continued that high level of performance in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Therefore, he is right now the best player on the Boston Celtics. Game 2 of the NBA Finals tips off tomorrow at TD Garden. The fans might be out to get Kyrie Irving, but the Mavericks know who the main problem is.
