Julen Lopetegui claims Manchester United is the world’s biggest side but he’s optimistic that Sevilla will win in the end in the semi-final of the Europa League.

Sevilla beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 due to a late strike that was the product of the only Spanish side’s offensive play on the Tuesday night.

While it took an extra-time penalty kick for Manchester United to reach the Europa League semifinals.

The five-time winners of the Europa League are now one step closer to yet another chance at getting their sixth title in this competition.

Julen Lopetegui on Sevilla thriving against Manchester United said:

“We are going to play against Manchester United in the next match. They’re the biggest team in the world but we’re going to be prepared for them.

“We’re focused on the next game, against a top, historic side, one of the best in the history of the sport who are in great form.

“We will give our best as we always do. To play against them will be really tough, but we’ll go into it believing we can beat them.”

Manchester United took a total 14 shots on goal, 13 of which were brilliantly kept out by Copenhagen’s goalkeeper Johnsson. The 95th minute penalty from Bruno Fernandes secured United’s place in the Europa league semi-finals.

However, Sevilla’s boss feels his side would have an upper hand in the semi-final game against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s in-form side.

Sevilla deserved to win against Wolves – Lopetegui told:

“I think we deserved the win today. The key was to chip, chip, chip away, have patience and wait until the right moment.

“I am very proud of my players because we were against a very good team. We needed to have the ball and not make mistakes because they have very fast forwards.

“We played very well against a good team, we had to be very concentrated.”
