Julian Edelman and Travis Kelce have very few things in common. Both are multiple-time Super Bowl champions and hate table reads before a show.
Kelce recently recalled an amusing incident that he had experienced last year. The showrunners of Saturday Night Live, or SNL, signed him to host an episode. He agreed without hesitation, but did not realize what he had signed up for.
Despite playing in front of dozens of cameras for more than a decade in the NFL and participating in a dating reality show, SNL was uncharted territory for the 35-year-old tight end. He wasn’t aware that before every episode, participants memorize the script during multiple rounds of table reads.
According to Kelce, he constantly fumbled his lines during the rehearsal.
The table reading, for a guy that can’t really read that well, it was kind of a f**ked situation… I was just focused on, ‘Don’t f**king skip this line.
Travis Kelce told Taylor Lewan and Will Compton on Bussin’ With The Boys podcast
Lewan replied,
Brother, when it comes to reading difficulties, I will be on that side of the aisle with you my entire life.
Kelce quickly presented a solution for guys like him and Lewan who face difficulties while reading the script.
They make audiobooks now, for guys like us. You read it, I’m listening.
Retired New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman connected with Kelce’s issues.

Edelman won three rings in his career. In 2020, when Tom Brady moved from the Patriots to the Buccaneers, he wanted Edelman to tag along like Rob Gronkowski. However, Edelman refused because he wanted to finish as a one-club man.
After retiring from football, he now spends time with his family and hosts the Dudes on Dudes podcast with Gronk.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship is at a turning point
While Gronk and Edelman walked away from the guy a while ago, Kelce extended his NFL career for another year. 2024 could have been his final year in pro football if the Chiefs had defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

So, what about the plans he made with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift? According to sources close to the pop icon, she had hoped to see her beau retire and spend more time with her before taking the next step in their relationship. However, the defeat in New Orleans altered everything.
Swift isn’t mad at Kelce because, as despite the loss, the Big Yeti spent loads of romantic moments with her during the following weeks. They went on dates, celebrated Mother’s Day, met brother Jason Kelce’s baby daughter and attended a TEU event in Nashville.
The People reported that the pair is really happy with each other’s company.
It’s been a turning point for their relationship in a lot of ways… Incredibly happy and in sync. There’s a calmness and ease to their relationship right now that’s been really grounding for Taylor and Travis.
Swift, in the meantime, reclaimed her masters record label after a long wait. Kelce, on the other hand, attended the Chiefs minicamp and is poised for the training camp to start in late July.
The Chiefs are looking good this year. As per DraftKings Sportsbook, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes have an 11.8% chance of reaching Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium next year. For the week one game, they will travel to Brazil to face divisional rivals the Los Angeles Chargers.
