Alex Oxlade Chamberlain’s return has brought back the squad depth Liverpool has been missing for a long time

Arguably it was the established front three of Liverpool that ran the show against Crystal Palace. However Liverpool had some players who returned from injury and they played like they’ve not been injured at all. Naby Keita proves why Liverpool fans are frustrated with him

In Jurgen Klopp’s side, no player is signed simply for the sake of a transfer with the exception being Thiago Alcantara who Klopp loves so much. Every player is signed based on an algorithm that chooses their compatibility and Klopp sitting down with them to know more about their personality. Naby Keita was signed in 2017 itself but could only make his debut for Liverpool in 2018. He has bedazzled every fan of Liverpool since his debut and proved to be Liverpool’s best player post-lockdown.

However if there is one thing Liverpool are frustrated about Keita is his injuries. Multiple injuries has plagued his time at Liverpool and today he made his 50th appearance for Liverpool. It speaks volumes when he has been here for 2 and a half years and Liverpool have played 90 matches in the Premier League in that period. Same goes to Alex Oxlade Chamberlain too as he has also been injured most of the time.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder has had his time in the spotlight and was the MvP in the match against Manchester City in the Champions League in 2018. He has had so many important moments but the injuries in between have been frustrating. The two of them returned and played impactful roles in the match against Crystal Palace.
