“Just sign the contract” Derek Brunson calls out Paulo Costa again for a fight in January
Ever since UFC 253 took place, the whole dynamics of the middleweight division changed. Paulo Costa was said to be the toughest fight for UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya. However, Adesanya gave a phenomenal performance at the main even, outclassing the Brazilian in every aspect.
After suffering his first defeat and losing the championship match, Costa has vowed to come back stronger and reach at the top level one more time. However, he will have to fight a few more times to earn that title shot.
Derek Brunson calls out Paulo Costa
UFC middleweight Derek Brunson is regarded as one of the tough fights in the division and has come back to winning ways after a win over youngster Edmen Shahbazyan.
Brunson did not take much time to react to Costa’s loss and has called him a lot of times for a fight. He feels that if Costa wants another shot at the title, he will have to go through him
Brunson posted that he is not here to play games and wants “the toughest fight in his division”–
If that was not all, recently Brunson taunted Costa again.
He wrote, “Dr. BorrachinhaMMA said he’s out until feb, I need to see a diagnosis ? You’re on your Instagram doing everything but backflips . Just sign the contract I’ll wait for January !”
It looks like Derek Brunson is very eager to fight Paulo Costa as soon as possible. Brunson is regarded as one of the “gate-keepers” of the division and in fact, he acknowledges that. Being a veteran, Brunson has also claimed that for him, Costa will be “the toughest fight in the division.”
Costa, on the other hand is yet to make a comment on the following proposals from Derek Brunson. Ever since his his defeat, Costa has been calling out “The Last Stylebender” Israel Adesanya for a rematch. The fight between Costa and Brunson would make sense, provided Costa needs to win a few bouts in order to get the title shot again.
