Italian Champions Juventus have appointed Andrea Pirlo as Juve’s head coach just few hours after the sacking of Maurizio Sarri. The former Italian midfielder had just joined Bianconeri’s managerial staff few weeks ago. Pirlo was appointed as Head coach for Juve’s U-23 squad on 31st on July.
Juventus released an official statement confirming Pirolo’s appointment as head coach for the first team.

The document stated, “Andrea Pirlo will be the new Juventus coach. 41 years old, born in Flero in the province of Brescia, Andrea Pirlo has a legendary career as a footballer that has led him to win everything, from the Champions League to the World Championship in 2006. In his four years at the helm of Juventus midfield, Pirlo has won as many league titles, an Italian Cup and two Super Cups. Today begins a new chapter of his career in the world of football.”
“As it was said about a week ago: from Maestro to Mister. From today he will be THE Coach for the Juventus people, as the club has decided to entrust him with the technical leadership of the First Team, after having already selected him for Juventus Under23. Today’s choice is based on the belief that Pirlo has what it takes to lead, from his debut on the bench, an expert and talented squad to pursue new successes.”
Pirlo on Ronaldo
Andrea Pirlo signed a two-year contract until 30 June 2022. Pirlo has been an admirer of Ronaldo for a long time. In an Interview Pirlo once said , “If I played with Cristiano Ronaldo in the same team, I would be the top assister of all time.”
Juventus sacked Maurizio Sarri just few hours ago , due to Juve’s recent exit from the Champions League on away goals. The Bianconeris have witnessed serious dip in form in the recent times. The Italian giants secured the title with just three point’s gap from second placed Inter Milan. Pirlo signed for Juventus in 2011 on a free transfer. He went on to become one of the greatest player at Juventus despite being in his 30’s. Pirlo is expected to bring Juventus’s former glory days back.
