Kai Havertz has been in red-hot form for the Gunners this season as the German has assumed a renewed role under Mikel Arteta this season. Arsenal’s beloved No.29 has scored in his last three games for the club, as he continued the trend against Southampton in a 3-1 win for his side. Even though the visitors opened the scoring in the second half, Havertz responded immediate to bring his side back into the game.

A quick counter attack saw the Gunners concede a brilliant solo goal from Cameron Archer. Havertz then responded three minutes later with an emphatic left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area. He became the only player since Robin van Persie to score in seven consecutive home games.

Mikel Arteta in disbelief after Bukayo Saka drops masterclass against Southampton

No matter what rival fans hold against Bukayo Saka, it is undeniable that the 23-year-old displays a level of brilliance far beyond his age. Two of those came against Southampton as the club went up against former goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Following the win, Arteta spoke to the press, making no effort to conceal his excitement.

Don’t forget about his (Saka’s) age. You can’t get away from the stats and it’s unbelievable what he’s doing at this age.

Mikel Arteta told the press

As for his post-match interaction with Ramsdale, Arteta clarified that he simply wished the Englishman the best for the future.

Arteta then moved on to Kai Havertz, who according to him, needed ‘love’ to perform at his best level. The manager insisted that there’s still a higher level for the player to unlock and that he’s had a significant boost in confidence.
