Arsenal star Bukayo Saka backed the club to end its 21-year long wait for the Premier League title, after a crucial 2-0 win over Ligue 1 champions PSG in the Champions League. The 23-year-old forward suggested that this is ‘Arsenal’s year’.
The Gunners have had the most heartbreaking moments for the past two seasons, finishing second in the EPL table behind winners Manchester City on both occasions. Despite staying atop of the EPL table for most of the time, the club endured poor results during the final match days to lose out to City on points. With Mikel Arteta having strengthened the team this summer, Arsenal look set to challenge for the title for the third season in a row, most recently securing an impressive 2-0 victory over PSG.
Bukayo Saka, who was handed the captain’s armband against PSG owing to Martin Odegaard’s injury, recently claimed that this could be Arsenal’s year to win the EPL title. The club last won the EPL title in 2004, and would be hoping to end their long wait. Speaking to club legend Thierry Henry, Saka exclaimed that the team has been getting closer to the title each passing year. Moreover, he emphasized on the importance of winning matches, and continuing with their play-style throughout the season.
"I do think this is the year." 👀

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz shine in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over French giants PSG
The Gunners secured their first win in the UEFA Champions League this season, as they schooled PSG 2-0 in an enthralling encounter at the Emirates Stadium. Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scored a goal each in the first half of the match, to seal the win.
Havertz put Arsenal ahead after just 20 minutes, scoring a brilliant header past PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma from a Leandro Trossard cross. Skipper Bukayo Saka then doubled the lead through a brilliant set-piece from near the touchline. PSG tried to stage a comeback in the second half, but could not outclass their English rivals.
Saka has now recorded eight goal contributions in nine matches this season, while the German star has five goals and an assist in nine matches as well. Meanwhile, Arsenal next face Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk in the UCL league stages, on 22nd October.
