The BYU entered Week 12 of this college season as one of the only four teams with an undefeated record but due to a bundle of mistakes, their winning streak ended with a disappointing 17-13 loss against Kansas. Not only did BYU sit atop the Big 12 Conference, but were also the favorite to win the Big 12 title. However, they are now tied for the first place with Colorado.
Initially, the Cougars were in the lead at 13-10 but then, they forced a punt from Jayhawks which ended up being recovered by Kansas’ Quentin Skinner after the kick struct BYU’s Evan Johnson. Moments later, Devin Neal clinched the solid victory with a three-yard touchdown and the Jayhawks outperformed a ranked team for the third time in a row.
Late in the fourth quarter, BYU still had a chance to turn the tables around by attempting a completed pass that fell short on fourth-and-11 after Kansas stopped them in the red zone and utilized the remaining 46 seconds in regulation with quarterback Jalon Daniels kneeling the ball down a couple of time.

If the previous four-team playoff format had been in effect, the Cougars would have lost their chance at the national title due to a late-season loss. However, under the new 12-team format, their hopes remain intact, and all they need now is to secure the Big 12 title.
Coming to the stats, the Cougars outgained the Jayhawks by scoring 354 over their 242 but in the turnovers, they logged two but their opponents only had one turnover.

BYU showed they’re overranked. Unless it’s the division leaders get the first rankings.
