In the 2023-24 NBA season, Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green was booted from the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament after provoking a fight between the Warriors and the Timberwolves. Green went overboard and choked Timberwolves star man Rudy Gobert in the game which led to his ejection. Former Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has opened up on this matter recently.
Towns recently appeared on the Club Shay Shay Podcast alongside host and NFL legend Shannon Sharpe and spoke about various topics. The one that caught the NBA community’s attention was Green’s ejection for choking Gobert. Towns stated that ‘he was surprised’ about how it unfolded.
Draymond Green is known for his ‘bad-boy’ character in the NBA. He often riles up opponents and does not feel guilty of fouling them. For example, during a team session in October 2022, Green notoriously punched Jordan Poole, which led to Poole leaving the Warriors for the Washington Wizards. That being said, Green is still considered a Warriors legend for the service and performances he has given them over the years.
Draymond Green never misses an opportunity to ‘berate’ Rudy Gobert
Draymond Green does not like Rudy Gobert. The Golden State Warriors player enjoys trash-talking about the Frenchman and making fun of him. Green took the chance to make fun of Gobert following Game 5 of the 2023-24 NBA Playoffs, where Gobert and the Timberwolves lost to the Denver Nuggets.
Green’s resentment toward Gobert is not new. When the Warriors star choked the Timberwolves center during a game, the two got into a physical altercation. He also targeted Gobert during the Paris Olympics, slandering him for his performances for Team France. It will be interesting to watch how these two perform in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
