Karl-Anthony Towns and his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods have been dating since 2020. Famous American personality, Funny Marco, appeared on an episode of Open Thoughts along with Woods, had a conversation about the New York Knicks center and joked about him that did not sit well with Woods.

Marco tossed out a claim that Towns switches up his voice on purpose and made a joke or two about his voice. There have been a few celebrities and fans in the past who have mocked Towns for his voice before. Nick Young made a similar joke on Gil’s Arena earlier this year, and fans online frequently bring it up whenever Towns appears on camera. But Woods made it clear that she will not let the joke slide anymore.

In response to Marco’s words, Woods replied with a confused look, “What’s not okay with you? You’re here in a hot dog costume.” The two held a short standoff before Marco broke the silence again and insisted that Towns should have “one voice.”

Woods did not back down and further questioned him. “How are you going to tell someone what voice they should have?” she asked, before shifting the conversation and quizzing Marco about Towns’ basketball numbers.

Jeff Teague mocked Karl-Anthony Towns’ voice once

Retired NBA player and a former teammate of Karl-Anthony Towns during their time at the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jeff Teague, has always been appreciative of Towns’ skillset. He has notably compared the 5-time All-Star to current rising star, Victor Wembanyama, by stating that he “was Wemby before Wemby” due to their unique combination of height and perimeter shooting.

Teague called Towns a “one of a kind player” as the two shared the locker room from 2017-2020 until Teague was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. The 2015 All-Star capped off his NBA career in 2021 by winning his first NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, where Teague played a backup point-guard to Jrue Holiday.

On an episode of Club520 podcast, Teague mocked Towns’ voice while reviewing the 30-year-old’s play against the Indiana Pacers last season in the playoffs.

Towns’ first season with New York Knicks was a promising one. He led the team to their first Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years. While they were eventually taken down the Indiana Pacers in six games, it was a sign that the Knicks are headed in the right direction led by Towns and Jalen Brunson.
