As of SummerSlam weekend, Karrion Kross and his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, are no longer under a WWE contract. Fightful reported that their deals were going to be up by that period, and the couple hadn’t been offered new deals, according to the report. But on the contrary, Dave Meltzer is claiming that Kross has been offered a new contract and that he doesn’t expect the 40-year-old to leave the company.
‘The Doom Walker’ was asked about the rumors being churned out by the wrestling mill of late. Speaking to The Angle podcast, he confirmed that the talks around him on the internet are mostly inaccurate. While he didn’t outright mention anything about WWE reportedly offering to renew his contract, it seems he has yet to put pen to paper. Kross also mentioned that he hopes to be seen on WWE television again.

The detailed version of the aforementioned conversation will be released soon, and the fans might get to know more about the apparent deadlock between Kross and WWE. ‘The Doom Walker’ had a match against Sami Zayn on the first night of SummerSlam, but he lost in an underwhelming fashion. Zayn ended their feud on a high note that had been going on for months.

Despite being the baby face and an otherwise crowd favorite, the former Honorary Uce received polarizing reactions from the live audiences in his on-screen beef with Kross. On the other hand, the latter, no matter if he proclaimed to expose the red-hot crowd favorite on numerous occasions, the fans still rallied for Kross in what could be hailed as a testament to his conviction.
Paul Heyman compares Karrion Kross’ hype to that of Stone Cold Steve Austin
The general upsurge in Karrion Kross‘ popularity among the fans has been acknowledged by Paul Heyman as well. ‘The Oracle’ recently joined Ariel Helwani for an in-studio conversation on a litany of topics. Helwani asked Heyman his thoughts on whether he’s buying the hype behind Kross or if it’s a case of just the internet jumping on the bandwagon.

‘The Wiseman’ began by deeming the erstwhile leader of ‘The Final Testament’ as an incredibly talented performer and someone who could hang with the top talent. Heyman noted that the groundswell in Kross’s standing among the WWE Universe is organic, and they’re not shoving him down anyone’s throat. The WWE Hall of Famer also insinuated that the company’s erratic use of him was a strategic move to get the fans to rally behind Kross even more.
………They’re making him a star. We’re not shoving him and Scarlett down anybody’s throats. The audience itself is making him a star and indeed perhaps a top star. He’s talented enough, and so is she, to carry it……….

Heyman likened Kross’ case to Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was also handpicked by the fans early on in his career to be their top star. While there’s no comparison between them in terms of the accolades they’ve earned, Heyman has still singled out the common link. It remains to be seen if the WWE fans will hijack the company’s upcoming shows with the chants of Kross or by bringing his signs to the arenas.
Are the fans likely to riot if WWE fires Karrion Kross?
It was back in August 2021 when Karrion Kross returned to WWE alongside Scarlett. They were rehired as soon as Triple H replaced Vince McMahon at the creative helm. ‘The Harbinger of Doom’ blindsided Drew McIntyre upon his comeback on SmackDown and stared down Roman Reigns‘ Bloodline.

It appeared to many that Kross was going to be a major threat to Reigns at the time. However, their singles match never came to fruition. ‘The Doomsday’ didn’t get a chance to compete for a world title during his recent tenure in the company.
But with more and more fans clamoring for WWE to re-sign him and treat the New York-born wrestler as a top star, that might change soon. This could go down like the recent case of R-Truth, whose firing sparked an unprecedented outrage among the WWE Universe. The company had to call him back within a week.
