Kevin Durant shuts down Fat Joe's claim of being run out of Rucker Park New York for scoring 82 points
Kevin Durant‘s legendary status as one of the greatest basketball players is evident through his elite scoring abilities that have captivated fans worldwide. However, Durant’s impact extends beyond the NBA courts. Rapper Fat Joe recently recounted an incident at Rucker Park, New York, where Durant’s exceptional skills were so impressive that opposition fans reportedly ran him out of the area in awe.
The New York native was a guest on the podcast The Roommates Show, talking about basketball and other topics.
Kevin Durant scored like 82 points in the third quarter. He don't like me telling this story. They chased him out the Rucker, like they want to beat him up. He whipped they a** so bad, that they wanted to literally beat him up out there. I was out there, they chased him into the truck, he had to go."Fat Joe said while narrating stories from Rucker Park
The award-winning rapper further mentioned that the opponents on that night even sent multiple players to guard Kevin Durant. However, even that was not enough, as Durant kept shooting at an unbelievable level.
The Phoenix Suns superstar had one of the best individual performances the Rucker Park arena has ever witnessed in its history. As per Joe, Durant took the opportunity to ball out in front of the Harlem faithful as not many get a chance to do that.
Kevin Durant corrects Fat Joe’s claims
The clip of Fat Joe’s claims about Kevin Durant at Rucker Park quickly went viral on social media, catching the attention of the 2-time NBA Champion himself. Durant responded by correcting Fat Joe’s assertion that he was “run out of the arena,” clarifying the situation surrounding the memorable moment.
Another podcast lie. It was nothing but respect and love out there that night, didn’t feel unsafe for one second.Kevin Durant wrote on X
Durant essentially confirmed what videos of that Rucker Park game showed. That Durant’s performances were wild enough for local fans to storm the court, but not run him out of the arena.
Durant scored 66 points, as opposed to Fat Joe’s claim of 80+ points. But the rapper was right about one part. Durant single handedly took over the game. The crowds poured out on to the court after watching the dominating performances from the future NBA Hall of Famer.
But as per the 2-time NBA Finals MVP himself, no one ran him out of the arena. Rather, he was adored for showcasing a performance for the ages on that night in New York.
