In Short
  • Kevin Durant became the 'new face of legs' for CeraVe, promoting skin care products.
  • He humorously stated he earned $2 million for just two hours of work on the commercial.
  • Despite recent controversies, Durant continues to perform well, averaging 26 points this season.

Kevin Durant is well known for his trolling and banters off the court. The Houston Rockets star is an active presence across social media and is often seen bantering with fans on the internet. Durant recently became the ‘new face of legs’ for CeraVe. The company manufactures and markets multiple skin care products primarily used to treat dry skin and other skin conditions.

The last few days have been difficult for Kevin Durant. The two-time champion was criticized for shifting the blame onto Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic for the decline of the All-Star Game and was recently accused of using a burner account to throw shade at both current and former teammates.

The messages have gone viral and the public has associated his name with the account. Durant has distanced himself from any questions regarding the incident. A few years ago, Durant’s ashy legs was the talk across social media. Slam Kicks released a picture promoting the player’s signature model and his extremely dry skin caught the attention of the masses.

Durant’s famously dry ankles have been a recurring punch line across social media, and CeraVe used it to their advantage. CeraVe staged a slow burn. Paparazzi-style photos of Durant moisturizing his legs circulated online. It was well-received and was seen as a hilarious ad by the public.

The former MVP was approached by a fan and asked about the commercial. Durant said:

I got paid $2 million for 2 hours of work… what am I gonna say, no?

Durant laughed and was lighthearted during the conversation. It is good to see that the whole Twitter distraction has not affected him.

Kevin Durant says he has one more year in him

While Durant has grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons, it has not stopped him from shining on the court. He recorded 35 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the Rockets’ 105-101 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night.

Currently in his 18th season in the NBA, Durant has shown no signs of slowing down. The forward joined the Houston Rockets in the offseason. He is currently averaging 26 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 51 appearances this season.

During the interaction with the fan, Durant was joking around with followers when a question about his future in the league sparked the conversation. He began chanting:

One more year.

This is Durant’s third club since leaving the Warriors in 2019, and he has won just two playoff series in that span. His move to the Rockets has been criticized by some as chasing rings. However, with Durant still performing at a high level, it is safe to assume that he has more than one year left in him.

Paul Pierce Defends Kevin Durant Amid Alleged Burner Leak

With Durant not addressing or answering any questions about the alleged burner leak, it leaves the topic open to debate. Although it hasn’t been confirmed that the account belongs to him, he has been subjected to heavy scrutiny.

Former NBA champion Paul Pierce does not believe it is as big an issue as people are making it out to be on No Fouls Given podcast.

They’re a young team, and they respect Durant. Even if he said it, he can go in there and just be like, that was my people’s, my bad. They’ll get over it cause that’s KD. So what? I said it. Well show me something different. Show me I’m lying. Then I look at the other guys who we talking about. Y’all really ain’t stepping up. Why do I got to be 37 and still doing this? I’m supposed to be leaning on y’all until the playoffs.

Things looked fine in their first game after the All-Star break against the Hornets as Durant scored a game-high 35 points. The win improved the Rockets’ record to 34-20 as they sit at fourth in the Western Conference standings.
