“It’s not good for the NBA!” Kevin Hart believes Nikola Jokic should not be given any more MVP awards
Nikola Jokic's performances are on the verge of netting him his 3rd NBA MVP award.
Kevin Hart does not want the NBA to give any mor MVP awards to Nikola Jokic
It is only a matter of time before Nikola Jokic wins another MVP award. His MVP-level performances for his Denver Nuggets team have elevated them to the top of the Western Conference. However, not everyone thinks the big Serbian should be given the award this year. Especially, actor and comedian Kevin Hart. He believes it will not be good for the NBA to hand the center the award this year.
Kevin Hart was hosting the NBA Unplugged show today when the topic of the MVP award was brought up.

The reason Hart suggested the league should not award any more MVPs is because it will take away the elite performances of other players. It would make the league’s voting system look outdated.
Fellow comedian Cedric The Entertainer was a guest on the show. He chimed in suggesting that it should go to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He referred to Nikola Jokic’s first two MVP seasons as more dominating than what they are watching unfold now.
The problem with the rating system is that it favors a player who has led his team to the top of the standings. By that regard, Gilgeous-Alexander has done a remarkable job in bringing his Oklahoma City Thunder to the top of the West. It is a spectacular achievement considering where they were last year.
The criticism of Nikola Jokic’s unbelievable season
The problem some have with Nikola Jokic’s performances this season is that they feel it is not dominating enough to warrant an MVP award. Some claim Luka Doncic should get the MVP award. He leads the scoring charts while being close to a triple-double season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s performances also suggest it should be given to him rather than Jokic.
The main critique is that Nikola Jokic essentially has 3 All-Star caliber players alongside him at the Denver Nuggets. Therefore, he alone has not helped the reigning champions reach the top. Rather it is a collective effort with Jokic leading.
Add to that, the Nuggets were top of the West last season too behind the backbone of the entire squad. Therefore, Kevin Hart feels the NBA should favor other superstars whose contributions have had a direct impact on their team’s performances.
