‘Kevin Holland will come in and steal everything from you’ – Chael Sonnen believes Kevin Holland will soon ‘Trailblaze to the top’

Kevin Holland has been one of the most exciting middleweight prospects lately. The number 10 ranked middleweight contender had a stellar 2020, as he fought five times, winning all five comfortably. Stitching up victories after victories, saw the ‘Trailblazer’ climb the middleweight division ladder pretty quickly. Now, he is just a couple of days away from his fight against number 7 ranked Derek Brunson.
Speaking about Kevin Holland in his YouTube channel, former UFC Fighter Chael Sonnen, revealed that Holland might soon be fighting for the title, if he repeats his 2020 feat. He also added that top middleweights have been overlooking the threat ‘the Trailblazer’ brings to the table.

Chael Sonnen heaped praises on Kevin Holland. He said, “Kevin Holland will come in and steal everything from you, if you are in middleweight and you are not factoring him into the equation. This is a guy who was nowhere, one year ago and it’s now a main event. There’s no other middleweight with that kind of trajectory. If he does what he did last year to this year one more time, yes, he’s fighting for the championship. If he does 70 percent of what he did in the last 12 months, he’s fighting for a championship.” [H/T FirstSportz]
Sonnen continued, “But Holland seems to be the one guy, that fellow middleweights are dismissing at least for the time being. I don’t mean that they don’t respect that Holland can fight, I think that they’re missing the phenomenon that is Kevin Holland!” [H/T FirstSportz]
A win against number 7 ranked Brunson, will push Holland further up the rankings, and probably allow him to have a go at middleweights knocking at the ‘top 5’ of the middleweight door. It is to be noted that Kevin Holland has never been finished in his career (3 unanimous decision losses and 2 submission losses).
