Kevin Lee and Rafael dos Anjos volunteer to replace Dustin Poirier against Conor McGregor for “Red Panty Night”

UFC’s superstar Conor McGregor wants to replace his rival Dustin Poirier. Kevin Lee and Rafael dos Anjos are two of the many fighters that responded to that. ‘The Notorious One has called for a replacement for the July 10th fight after ‘The Diamond’ called him out for not donating to his charity. It is pretty clear that Conor’s ego was hurt.
Dustin Poirier exposed Conor and his team for falsely promising a donation to their charity and called him out yesterday via Twitter. To which Conor was hurt being called a cheapskate and called off the fight. The fighter said that he will be fighting someone else. Though the Irishman has not revealed the new opponent, Kevin Lee and Rafael dos Anjos seem to be interested.
UFC’s #13 ranked lightweight fighter, Kevin Lee did not shy away from taking his shot at the fight against Big Money Man, Conor McGregor. Kevin Lee suggested that he would be interested in fighting the Irishman. “I can be ready by July 10th,” he wrote on Twitter. ‘The Motown Phenom’ also tagged McGregor and UFC bossman, Dana White.
Kevin Lee is coming off a defeat against Lightweight title contender, Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 170. Lee lost the fight via submission in the third round. He has a record of 18-6-0 in the sport hoping to fight Conor next.
Kevin Lee or Rafael dos Anjos? Who will make it to the big fight?
Former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has been trying to fight Conor McGregor for quite some time now. It’s almost desperate at this point. Rafael last fought against Paul Felder at the UFC Fight Night event in November 2020. The fighter is coming off a win and has not stepped into the octagon since then.
Conor McGregor and RDA have had some past and there have been brinks of the two former champions fighting in the past. On Twitter, Rafael wrote asking Conor, “Red panty night?” Though Kevin Lee and Rafael dos Anjos have stepped up to take the fight, it takes more than one to decide the fate of the fixture.
