A former World Champion has opined on if The Rock is actively trying to obtain the creative reins of WWE from Triple H.

Triple H‘s initial promotion as the WWE CCO was marred by Vince McMahon weaseling his way back into the top brass. However, continued allegations of sex*al misconduct and physical abuse forced the ill-famed business magnate to bid adieu permanently. Since then, his son-in-law has been the driving force behind the WWE storylines. And he’s doing well, as evident by the booming business metrics.
But is The Rock trying to usurp Paul Levesque? This rumor has been swirling for a while now as the fans know the entire WWE creative may turn a new leaf if the Hollywood actor steps in. Addressing those claims, former NWO member Kevin Nash proffered his two cents while speaking on the Kliq This podcast. Nash simply denied Rock taking over the creative department of WWE.
Big Daddy Cool affirmed that Dwayne Johnson doesn’t have enough time, alluding to his Hollywood ventures. To be in that position as The Game, one needs the commitment to work closely with the superstars. Take, for instance, as Nash also cited, Triple H recently posted a sneak peek into his direction of Shinsuke Nakamura‘s new entrance. Kevin lauded The King of Kings for tapping into those details.
Later on, the 65-year-old retired wrestler underscored the locker room’s readiness to work for Levesque, no matter what. His leadership has fostered a healthy backstage environment that’s been one of the reasons behind WWE’s renaissance.
Nash continued by saying that The Rock and his business associate, Brian Gewirtz, don’t have that distinction. They wouldn’t resonate with the boys and the girls in the back right off the bat if they were to replace The Cerebral Assassin. The trust that the current stars have in Hunter isn’t an overnight phenomenon. It needs time.
How can The Rock shake up next year’s WrestleMania?
Recently, a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful revealed WWE’s willingness to do Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk at WrestleMania 41. Despite it being an undisputed big-time attraction, there’s no guarantee that it’d happen.
A key note from the report tells that if The Rock informs WWE of his involvement at WrestleMania, most of the card would be impacted, including Punk vs. Reigns. That’s how one can deduce the Black Adam star’s backstage pull in the company.
Apart from the stature he holds, The Brahma Bull is also a member of TKO’s Board of Directors. He’s friends with Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel. Also, a previous report from Fightful stated that Rock has told WWE that they’re his priority.
He’d make appearances for the company whenever he’s able to. At the moment, his status for the first Raw on Netflix is up in air. Furthermore, he’s not factored into current plans for WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
