Among the many UFL players hoping for another chance in the National Football League (NFL), one stood out with the best odds—Tyler Vaughns, and so believes Keyshawn Johnson. Vaughns has established himself as a strong performer in the spring league, finishing the 2023 season with 302 yards, 31 catches, and a touchdown.
He also led Arlington Renegades to secure the first-ever pro football title in the Dallas area since the Cowboys dynasty in the mid-90s. Even though his team finished last in the XFL Conference this year, his personal stats of 503 yards, 45 catches, and three touchdowns are undeniably impressive.
Highlighting his stats, the former NFL wide receiver made a case for Vaughns on the recent episode of Undisputed, about how he can secure another opportunity to play in the NFL.
He's got all the other stuff. He just - there's something about his running style (that) doesn't allow him to separate ... I think he should move to inside and play in the slot but for some reason, he keeps playing on the outside. He'll get another opportunity in the National Football League for sure.Keyshawn Johnson said
Vaughns has established himself as a dominant player in the UFL, known for some of the best plays. If he continues in this direction while improving his running game, he will surely get another opportunity in the NFL.
Potential destinations for Tyler Vaughns in the NFL
Speaking of his NFL career, when Vaughns first entered the league, he signed with two teams but had to part ways without playing a single game. However, with his name on the rise again, Tyler Vaughns appears to have more opportunities and could sign with top teams if given the chance.
First, it could be the Steelers, given they need better backing for George Pickens especially after Diontae Johnson was traded to the Carolina Panthers. Also, as Vaughns has been in the practice with them, his odds are better.
Apart from that, the Cincinnati Bengals are also in need of support as they are in a tough spot with Tee Higgins and lost Tyler Bloyd to free agency. This puts grave pressure on Ja’Marr Chase’s shoulders, making Vaughns a good option for them to pursue.
