Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov was scheduled to defend his title against Alexandr Shabliy at the Bellator Champion Series. Interestingly, the 26-year-old Russian fighter is the cousin of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The ‘Eagle’ often corners his cousin as well. As such, in his fight against Shabliy, a hilarious reaction from the former UFC champ went viral.
Usman Nurmagomedov’s elder brother, Umar Nurmagomedov, was also present in his corner. The ‘Young Eagle’ is an undefeated prospect in the UFC’s bantamweight division. Amidst his rising career, he often supports his younger brother’s fights. However, now coming to the former UFC lightweight champ, the Eagle currently trains fellow Dagestani fighters, including Usman Nurmagomedov.
Interestingly, Khabib Nurmagomedov was seemingly upset when his cousin failed to submit his Shabliy. It was the second title defense of Usman Nurmagomedov, who was found positive for using PEDs a few months back. The fight started with both the fighters trading several kicks. However, as the rounds went by, Shabliy and Nurmagomedov seemed to be taking more cautious steps.
In one instance of the fight, Usman Nurmagomedov had the perfect to implement a guillotine choke on his opponent. However, the 26-year-old couldn’t do so. The Eagle, in particular, showed how desperately he wanted his cousin to finish the fight. When they came across the viral video, the fight fans gave hilarious reactions.

Khabib Nurmagomedov achieved extraordinary feats in his MMA career. Not only that, he even retired without any defeats. Interestingly, in most of his fights, the Eagle is known for dominating his opponents and forcing them to submit. However, when Usman failed to do that, Khabib clearly showed his disappointment.
While showing his dismay, the Eagle grabbed Umar Nurmagomedov, who was also present in the corner, and tried to attempt a choke on him.
