Usman Nurmagomedov has signed with Bellator MMA, was announced on instagram by his cousin, the great ‘Khabib Nurmagomedov. According to Khabib, Usman has struck a multi-year deal with Bellator. Usman has a professional record of 11-0. Having made his MMA debut at MPF : Young Talents Cup 2017, Usman boasts a staggering–10 finishes.

Usman will compete in the 155 pound weight class. To reach the summit, he will have to dismantle the dominant Brazilian, Patricio Freire. Since Usman has just signed with Bellator, the date and possible opponent for his debut fight is yet to be announced, although reports suggest that he is expected to compete in December or January.

Scott Coker, the president of Bellator was really thrilled to announce the Russian’s entry into Bellator. “With today’s signing of Usman Nurmagomedov, we are making it clear that Bellator is home to the best fighters on the planet and an organization where the sport’s future stars are coming to compete,” Bellator president Scott Coker exclaimed. “I am thrilled to have Usman join the promotion and he will be placed in an immediate position to showcase his skills and contend at 155-pounds. We hope to have him in action inside the Bellator cage by December or January.”

Khabib’s cousin Usman has been busy fighting in and around the middle east over a couple of years. He’s had a terrific 2020, knocking out all the three opponents he has faced. It will really be interesting to see how the Russian fares in Bellator as he has entered a realm of top class and elite fighters. But, why would he fear when he has ‘ The Eagle of Dagestan‘ by his side. Will he go on to replicate the success his legendary cousin has notched up? Only time will tell!
