Khamzat Chimaev vs Wonderboy Thompson very close to being booked for UFC main event in November
The Borz Khamzat Chimaev is being booked to fight the Wonderboy Stephen Thompson in November at the UFC Fight Night main event. As the UFC President Dana White already shared the news that Khamzat is going to face a ranked fighter next in the main event, this fight is almost a done deal.
According to Yahoo Sports, Dan Wetzel this fight is so close to booking for the main event. The former welterweight champion Stephen Thompson is getting ready to face Borz next. Khamzat is eagerly waiting to enter the Octagon again after making the record of winning 3 fights in the minimum number of days.
Although, nothing is official yet, this fight is speculated to serve as main in Las Vegas after UFC returns from Fight Island. Khamzat was expected to face Demain Maia but UFC is thinking to give this fighter a bigger fight in his fourth UFC appearance.
Will the Khamzat hype continue?
The Borz made his UFC debut in July and in the span of just 10 days, he won two fights. After that, he defeated Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds in September. On the other hand, Wonderboy’s name needs no introduction to the UFC.
He has already proved his worth by holding the UFC Welterweight Championship and in his last fight, he defeated Vicente Luque at UFC 244. Wonderboy is facing a few ups and downs in his carrier but he isn’t one of those fighters who can’t be underestimated, don’t forget he also holds a win over Jorge Masvidal back in 2017.
So, what is going to happen? Will Khamzat knock Wonderboy out and make another record in UFC history or will Wonderboy derail the Khamzat hype train? We will have to wait to find it out after this fight becomes official.
