Fans in India are extremely passionate in India and in what is a case that hammers home the aforesaid point, the father of Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain and Indian cricketer KL Rahul, Dr. KN Lokesh received a strange mail from one of his students. Lokesh is a professor of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka and one of his students wanted to know about Rahul’s fitness status.
It is noteworthy that KL Rahul was diagnosed with acute appendicitis ahead of PBKS’ match against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the now-suspended Indian Premier League (IPL). This meant that the wicketkeeper-batsman had to undergo surgery upon leaving his side’s bio-bubble. It could also have meant the end of the IPL 2021 season for Rahul, but for the indefinite suspension that followed due to the COVID-19 cases breaching the bubble.
In Rahul’s absence, Mayank Agarwal captained the side and shone on a personal note as he struck 99*, but wasn’t able to see his side win the match. All of that is now a distant memory as there is no resumption in sight for the tournament until at least September.

Now, a mail sent by one of KL Rahul’s father, KN Lokesh’s students has gone viral on social media after a screenshot of the same was shared online by a fan. The tweet which now has more than 300 likes is captioned, “So KL Rahul’s dad works a professor in my college. One of my juniors sent him an email with this.“
The mail reads, “Hello sir, I am Rahul Kumawat from 2nd year mining branch. I have a doubt that KL Rahul sir will join IPL soon or he just left the IPL 2021 because of his appendix operation. I am his big fan sir.” Rahul’s father reportedly did not respond to the said mail.
On the cricketing front, the next focus for KL Rahul will be to get back to fitness. He has been selected in the squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand next month, but only after he gets back to fitness will he be able to travel with the Indian contingent.
