Klay Thompson might not be winning on the court, but he is definitely winning off it as his relationship with rapper Megan Thee Stallion blossoms.
The Dallas Mavericks star and the musical artist have been seen gushing in each other’s company, with both of them spending as much time together as they can.
Be it at shows or his games, the 30-year-old rapper has tried to support her man even though he now finds himself glued to the bench. She claimed that she had never experienced this level of kindness from another man.
As Thompson tries to shake off his shooting slump, many are trying to dissect what is wrong with his on-court performance. After Patrick Beverley and Jason Williams pulled Megan Thee Stallion into the conversation, it forced Klay Thompson to reply.
Referring to my GF as a ‘p***y’ is so disgusting and disturbing. Especially from someone who played in the NBA. How would y’all feel if I referred to your wives in such a way? Patrick Beverley. Do better, fellas. Very disappointing.

The 4-time NBA champion was incensed with the comments of the two former players, leading him to defend his girlfriend. He believes there are better ways to dissect a player’s troubles on the court rather than having to drag their better halves in such a derogatory manner.
Jason Williams dragged Megan Thee Stallion while speaking to Patrick Beverley
In this day and age, when former players are shifting to podcasting as a way to earn a living, sometimes they tend to go over the line. Klay Thompson was referring to this statement from Jason Williams.

I’m from West Virginia, man, I’ve been taught a lot from old folks, old white folks. It only takes one p***y to drag a battleship across the desert. That’s how powerful it is. Klay Thompson, I ain’t sayin’ that’s what it is… But that might be what it is.
Jason Williams said on Hoopin’ n Hollerin’
It seems the former NBA champion, who goes by the nickname of ‘White Chocolate’, felt the Mavericks star might be more focused on his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion than his basketball game.

Patrick Beverley and his co-hosts agreed to this, as they too felt there was no other explanation for Thompson to be struggling this much, which forced head coach Jason Kidd to bench him.
Klay Thompson provides classy response to being benched
The last time Klay Thompson was benched, it impacted him in such a manner that he eventually decided to leave the Golden State Warriors and sign with the Dallas Mavericks.
Now, after starting 79 games, he finds himself on the bench, contributing whenever Jason Kidd feels it is right to use his 2-way skills. When asked what he felt about the benching, the 5-time All-Star said this:
I’m enjoying it. I get to see the game develop, so I can see where to pick my spots. At the end of the day, I played 30 minutes in the NBA, year 15, I’m just trying to be out there as much as I possibly can. I’m not saying the end is near, but like it’s such a privilege to be out there.
Klay Thompson replied
The California native hopes he can be a consistent threat whenever he is on the court. He knows his time in the league is dwindling, which is why he is grateful for the opportunity.

Klay Thompson is currently averaging a career low of 8.5 points per game while also shooting just 32% from the field, another career low. If he can improve his efficiency a bit, his contributions to the Mavericks could end up resulting in wins.
