Ronald Koeman has endured a mixed campaign as the coach of FC Barcelona. The club are top of their champions league group after comfortably dispatching Juventus 2-0. However, they are struggling in La Liga and are in 12th place after getting routed by Real Madrid 3-1 in the El Classico. Moreover, Koeman has changed the formation of the team to 4-2-3-1 and it is taking time for the players to adapt.

If my situation changes, I hope I am told – Koeman

FC Barcelona president, Bartomeu resigned before a referendum being done for his removal could take place. A new president will be elected in March next year and he could look to take the club in a new direction. Many of the candidates are in Favor of bringing Xavi as the coach for the team. So, Koeman is under huge pressure to deliver the trophies this season or get sacked.

Koeman talking on this said, “If my situation changes in any way, I hope that I am told about it. We want to gain better results and improve the way we play. That is what we are putting all of our efforts into doing. Everything outside of that is out of our control. We’ll see what happens. I am not liberated by what has happened, not at all. We all have our own thoughts on what happened. The team showed that it hasn’t affected us – if it had, we wouldn’t have put in a game like we did.”

Nevertheless, the team finally look motivated to win this season with Bartomeu out of the way. Messi will be expected to deliver more goals and might be persuaded to stay by the new incoming president. Koeman will need to make some changes to the team and formation as the front line hasn’t performed at their absolute best with Griezmann struggling.
