Rey Mysterio endured a grueling battle against Logan Paul this week on Monday Night Raw. The WWE legend put up a valiant fight against The Maverick but ultimately fell short. However, his night was far from over. Following the match, The New Day blindsided the legendary luchador, unleashing a relentless beatdown on him.

After Raw went off the air, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods ambushed Mysterio from behind, seeking retribution. The duo viciously targeted his ankle, attempting to crush it against the steel post. LWO member Dragon Lee rushed in to make the save, but he too fell victim to their assault. It appears the duo were venting their frustration over what they perceived as past disrespect from Mysterio.

Over the past month, Mysterio has repeatedly clashed with The New Day. He was among the first to call out Kingston and Woods for disrespecting Big E. Taking a firm stand, Mysterio even banned the former Tag Team Champions from the locker room in an attempt to humble them. However, this only fueled their resentment, igniting a deep-seated animosity toward the Master of the 619.

Last month, when Kingston’s mother walked out in shame, The New Day placed the blame squarely on Mysterio. Now, it seems their brutal attack was meant to send a statement by targeting a WWE Hall of Famer. Interestingly, rather than targeting anyone else, The New Day chose to single out Rey Mysterio, making him the focal point of their ruthless assault.
