Mumbai Indians continued with their streak of losing the inaugural match for the eighth season this edition as well. Rohit Sharma’s men conceded a nail-biting defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore during the opening match of IPL 2021. The lower order of the defending champions failed to get going which saw them restricted to just 160.

Quinton de Kock is unlikely to come back for the game owing to the mandatory quarantine period. MI will be looking to get their lower order back into the groove early on in the league. We might see Piyush Chawla replace Rahul Chahar who failed to shine even on a slow Chepauk pitch.

The Eoin Morgan-led side is coming from a terrific win in their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
