Kuldeep Yadav, the first Indian Chinaman bowler opens up about his difficulty in finding a spot in the present Indian Playing XI. The left arm unorthodox wrist spinner has the record of clocking the fastest 100 ODI wickets for an Indian spinner. He achieved this feat in second ODI match against Australia in 17th January, 2020. But currently the 26 year old spinner has not been able to find himself in the Indian squad for white ball format and subsequently he wasn’t provided with adequate opportunities by his own franchise- Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL this year.

Kuldeep Yadav who embarked his cricket career as a key bowler introducing the variety in Indian bowling attack is now only found in the bench rather in action. “There comes a time in your career when you start doubting yourself but you need to keep the momentum going and keep working hard,” said Kuldeep Yadav in an interview with Crictracker.

Kuldeep Yadav has been waiting to be provided with the opportunity of making a comeback to the Indian national team and cement his spot. Ravindra Jadeja has become the undisputable left arm all rounder for the Indian team with his remarkable performances both with the bat and the ball in white ball cricket and Test format. Hence the present Indian team had made it’s choice of the left arm all rounder over the Spinner combo- Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal. Kuldeep Yadav in his exclusive interview opened up to certain interesting questions which popped up.

Kuldeep Yadav reveals the reason for not getting picked up:

When he was questioned regarding not getting picked up in the playing XI, he expressed that it is what the team wants at the situation prevailing and he always want what is the best for the team. Jadeja has been providing consistent break through with the ball and also provides a deep batting line up for team India. Recently we could have seen the remarkable finishing ability of the left arm all rounder in the Australia T20 series and also in the IPL-2021. So it has always been tough to choose between him and our spinning combination.

I think that when a player is not getting adequate games to showcase his ability and periodical performance, he tends to lose his rhythm and confidence. This has been the negative factor affecting my performance as I have not been provided with consistent opportunities to get back to my form. The team combinations have been a challenge for my spot in the playing XI and I had to sacrifice my place as well. But the team management has been supportive towards me in these hard time with Virat and Ravi bhai advising me of the necessary things expected in the match.

Also, for youngsters who are not provided with chances in the international cricket I would ask them to wait for their chance and until then never stop working hard towards developing yourself. You should stop complaining about thinks as we cannot expect when our team may need us so we should stay positive and wait for the chance to serve our National team.
