Out of all the popular Indian cricket stars, Kuldeep Yadav is probably the biggest football fanatic out there. The chinaman keeps watching football whenever he is free and regularly tweets about the sport on his X feed.
A huge FC Barcelona fan, Kuldeep Yadav stayed up all night to watch his club face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. During the entire duration of the match, he kept live-tweeting, reacting to the game and adding a bit of his own analysis.
Barcelona were the first to score, with Raphinha slotting the ball into an empty net after a big mistake by Gianluigi Donnarumma. Yadav was excited, tweeting out as his team celebrated the goal. He was also surprised by how the PSG defense were giving loads of space to the Barcelona forwards, leading to the first goal.
PSG then got the lead early in the 2nd half, with former Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele scoring and Vitinha scoring just two minutes later. Luckily Raphinha equalized the match, with Pedri providing an incredible assist to the Brazilian. Yadav once again tweeted out, stunned by Pedri’s pass, asking where the injury-affected midfielder was.
Dembele was close to getting the lead for PSG in the 74th minute, but was denied by the post. Just two minutes later, Barcelona were awarded a corner and Andreas Christensen scored a header to win his team the match. Happy with the win, Yadav uploaded a selfie and wished his fellow Culers a good night.
Kuldeep Yadav wants to appear on R. Ashwin’s show to talk about football
During the 1-1 draw between Manchester City and Liverpool on 11th March, Kuldeep Yadav tweeted about the match. In the tweet, he commented how he loved watching the high defensive lines deployed by both teams, which caught Ravichandran Ashwin’s attention.
The Indian off-spinner jokingly called his Indian teammate a “Football manager”. Yadav replied to the tweet, stating that he hoped to appear on Ashwin’s YouTube show, Kutti Story. He also added that he would love to talk football on the show, to which Ashwin said he’s learning the sport.
Currently both Yadav and Ashwin are participating in the Indian Premier League. Yadav has only featured in two matches for Delhi Capitals, missing the last three matches due to a niggle. Meanwhile Ashwin has been a regular in the Rajasthan Royals XI, picking up only one wicket in five matches.
