Kyle Busch breaks silence on some NASCAR fans branding him “washed up”
Kyle Busch has responded to the criticism from NASCAR fans over his winless streaks since the second half of last Cup season.

In the 2024 NASCAR Cup season has been a nightmare for two times Cup champion Kyle Busch. He hasn’t been able to end his winless streak that started in the second half of the 2023 season and every time he has got a car capable of winning the race, he was caught up in unfortunate wrecks caused by other drivers.
As his poor performance continues, some NASCAR fans started branding Kyle Busch washed and urged him to retire, despite the fact that his performance drop was mostly due to the poor RCR car. Busch addressed these claims in a recent interview with The Athletic, while talking about the comments from NASCAR fans he agrees with, like the issues on track products and commercials.
He went on point out that there are multiple drivers like him who is going through similar poor streak and pointed out that some of the drivers who have won because of situations opportunities. He asserted that most of the race winners this season weren’t dominant ones and some of them backed into one.

Before addressing the washed-up racer tag, Busch pointed out that through sometimes the fans go overzealous with their opinion on the sport, most often they are right. He pointed out that he agrees with the fans concerns regarding the poor race product and the issues with commercials during broadcasts.
The comments from Kyle Busch suggest that he really understands the perspectives of the fans and agrees with most of them, until it’s based on the facts. His serious response to the winless streak criticism shows his competitive nature and confidence in himself about the many more race wins left for him to earn in the sport.
