NASCAR introduced some massive changes to the sport with the Next-Gen car in 2025, with one of the biggest changes being the rearview camera, that took mirror racing to another the level. The drivers now have the support of both the spotter and the camara, unlike any other sport in the world and two times Cup champion Kyle Busch isn’t happy about it.

Ahead of the Dover International Speedway race weekend Kyle Busch shared his thoughts about the situation, with the cameras affecting racing. This gave drivers the opportunity to match the movement of the drivers behind them and defend aggressively. This almost every time ruin the fun in racing.

So, in order to put an end to this situation, Kyle Busch wants NASCAR to step up and make a ruling that would change the game. He wants them to mandate the driver use either the spotter or the camara, not both. If they chose spotter, they have to remove Camera and put back a mirror in place, or vice versa.

I mean, us talking about it isn’t going to change anything, right? But I would say that if you run the mirror, you don’t get a spotter. If you want a spotter, then you don’t get the mirror, the camera. So, pick one.

It’s a pretty god suggestion from the Richard Childress Racing veteran, as this will force drivers to go for the sponsor as at the end of the race, these professional gives the idea of the whole race live time for the driver, as well as how their rival are challenging them in duels. Overlooking that support just for an advantage in duels with the Camara isn’t wise option.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. seems to agree with this comment, as he reposted a video of Kyle Busch making the claim via X. The two times Xfinity Series champion drove with mirror and spotter his whole racing career and understands how that makes racing more exciting, though the Camera offers drivers an extra advantage.

Kyle Busch had a tough day on the track at Dover

Coming to Dover this week, with the poor performance streak haunting him from the start of the 2025 season, Kyle Busch had just one goal, secure a solid run. The bets he could do regardless of a good start was a P11, and he talked about the experiment post-race.

Strong start to the race for our Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen team today at Dover Motor Speedway. We just needed more at the end of the race. We were pretty neutral to start. By Stage 2, it was easy for the right rear to push through the right front when rubber built. Our balance switched to wrecking loose and our Chevy wasn’t in the track.

Further talking about the point, Kyle Busch admitted that as the race approached the final laps, the car lost some balance. Hence the ex-Joe Gibbs Racing driver couldn’t perform on the same level as he did at the start of the event, while his former teammate Denny Hamlin won the race.

It was way different from the start of the race. We salvaged what we could. We’ll regroup and continue to push for a spot in the NASCAR Playoffs.

Kyle Busch added.

But despite the disappointment, he is determined to convert the salvaged top-15 finish to a playoff entry worthy performance in the remaining races of the season. It would be interesting to see how the last five races of the regular season are going to playout for the veteran racer.
