Despite being heavy-hearted, Irving understood the business side of the league. The 32-year-old was devastated but kept things professional for the new additions to the roster. Doncic and Irving quickly bonded on and off the court. The duo was considered among the greatest backcourts in just one season. In their one year together the pair reached the finals together. Keeping basketball chemistry aside, Uncle Drew also admired Doncic as a person and even spoke highly of him as a new father. The shift would certainly be difficult after the deep-rooted friendship.

Kyrie Irving might reunite with Kevin Durant in Dallas

Besides Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving also had stellar on-court chemistry with Kevin Durant in Brooklyn. After the stunning trade of their main player, Athletic’s Sam Amick reported that Nico Harrison and the team are looking to add another superstar next to Irving and Anthony Davis. The front office ‘dreams of’ adding Durant to the lineup to create the Big 3.

As the Mavs guard spoke about the new additions for the first time on Tuesday, the star also revealed an unknown idea of the partnership of the three. According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, Irving, Durant, and Davis spoke about teaming up in Boston with a young Jayson Tatum back in 2018. But at the time a deal was never in the works. But it seems that the chances are back on the table again.

Bearing in mind, Irving’s revelation and the recent rumors fans were divided. The idea of the reunion of Irving and KD was tempting but both stars and Davis are in their thirties. The adjustment would take some significant time. But the trio would certainly dominate the floor considering the perfect blend of offense and defense. But Durant’s addition to the Mavericks does seem like a stretch at this point.
